Daniel Caesar Debuts “Waiting In Vain” Cover From ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ Biopic

Daniel Caesar Debuts "Waiting In Vain" Cover From 'Bob Marley: One Love' Biopic

Daniel Caesar shared his cover of Bob Marley‘s “Waiting In Vain” as part of the soundtrack of the Bob Marley: One Love biopic.

The artist offers a smooth flip of the beloved Marley track, hearing Caesar really transforming the cut for his own sound. Caesar’s cover is one of seven renditions in the soundtrack album, which include offerings from Kacey Musgraves, Wizkid, Leon Bridges, Jessie Reyez, Bloody Civilian and Skip Marley, the grandson of Bob Marley. “My dad used to sing around the house a lot and play the guitar and one of his favorite songs to play was ‘Redemption Song’ – That was one of the first songs I remember learning how to play as well,” Caesar said in a statement.

“I love the idea of music where…if you’re going to say something, say something. It’s not all about aesthetic, he had something to say,” he added. “Similarly, I have things to say – a lot of my music centers around expressing my emotions, but I have moments where I like to say something that is important and take a stance.”

Stream Daniel Caesar’s “Waiting In Vain” on Spotify and Apple Music. Bob Marley: One Love (Music Inspired by the Film) drops February 14.
