Daniel Arsham revisits his eroded series in a new sculpture, entitled BRONZE ERODED MELPOMENE.
Cast in bronze, and hand-finished in a custom Tiffany Green patina, the edition of 99 was made in conjunction with a 200-year old French atelier that has worked with some of Europe’s leading institutions. One such work is the original Melpomene statue that is currently housed at the famed Louvre Museum.
Fans of the artist will recall two recent shows that continued on this exploration into antiquities — from the KÖNIG GALERIE in Berlin to Shanghai’s Long Museum.
The limited-edition sculpture sizes at 11.8-inches high and weighs 17.6 pounds. BRONZE ERODED MELPOMENE comes with a pair of Arsham’s signature art handling gloves, a metallic foiled certificate of authenticity that is signed and numbered by the artist, along with an Arsham Studio wooden crate to package the piece in. Visit the artist’s website on November 5 at noon EDT to purchase.
