Daniel Arsham and EYEFUNNY OBJECTS Shape New Crystallized Pokémon Card

Coinciding with his ongoing “Five-Series” art exhibition entitled “A Ripple in Time”, Daniel Arsham links up with EYEFUNNY OBJECTS to debut a new crystallized stone Pokémon card as part of the “Ancient Power: Hidden in the Ruins” segment. The contemporary New York artist last held the “Relics of Kanto Through Time” exhibition and has come back to Tokyo once again to further his nostalgic fascination with the beloved Pokémon characters.

Arsham has released a number of works inspired by treasured throwback articles ranging from large objects such as cars to small seemingly everyday items like game console controllers and cameras.

Known for its creations utilizing materials such as Aji stone produced in Kagawa, EYEFUNNY OBJECTS and Daniel Arsham combine both of their signature techniques to create a Pokémon card-like sculpture made of black granite and crystal showcasing the character Mew. The artwork will be presented in the show curated by 2G fashion director, Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi.

Those currently residing in Japan and check out the “Ancient Power: Hidden in the Ruins” session at Nanzuka 2G from February 11 to March 6.
