After a run of collaborations including releases with Paria Farzaneh, Kerwin Frost and Stüssy earlier this year, Beats has now unveiled a new project alongside Daily Paper. Focusing on the Studio Buds, Daily Paper has taken inspiration from New York’s ’80s and ’90s hip-hop and graffiti scene.
The light-weight ear buds come in white, with a grafitti-inspired red version of the Daily Paper shield logo. Additionally, a white charging case is covered with black and red tags across its front and back, while the exterior packaging also features a range of tags to reference the grafitti theme. In terms of specifications, the Studio Buds have Active Noise Cancellation, up to 24 hour battery life, and water and sweat resistance.
Launching the collaboration, Daily Paper co-founder and design director Abderrahmane Trabsini said:
“Music is one of the most important brand pillars for us as it brings our community together. Working with Beats has always been on our wish list of collaborations. It’s also an extension of the current SS22 collection which is inspired by hip-hop culture.”
The collection is launched with a campaign featuring Ugandan British rapper Unknown T, following his musical journey from writing lyrics in his bedroom to selling out major shows. The film was directed by Places + Faces‘ Ciesay, and shows Unknown T discuss his heritage, environment and influences.
The Daily Paper x Beats Studio Buds is due to launch via the Daily Paper web store and physical locations from May 26, priced at $149.95 USD.
