D Double E Announces the Release of His Forthcoming EP 'No Reign No Flowers'

Grime and UK rap legend, D Double E, has just announced the release of his forthcoming EP, No Reign No Flowers, in what promises to be Double’s “most cathartic work to date both sonically and narratively.”

This latest project from D Double E is his first to release since he dropped Bluku! Bluku! 2 – which was celebrated with an exclusive interview with Hypebeast — with the new EP produced entirely by Double’s close collaborator, TenBillion Dreams. Additionally, the upcoming project will include a slew of features too, with Danny Brown, Hamzaa, Suspect OTB, and Ghetts all grabbing verses.

To mark the announcement of his new project, D Double E has shared the EP’s second lead single, “Life Line,” featuring the soulful tones of Hamzaa. Setting the tone for a dark, emotive, and gospel-led single, the track is all about life — the good and bad sides of it — and aims to deliver a message to young people, asking them to look after themselves and be intentional with their decisions.

Coming with accompanying visuals — directed by Eleanor Grace Hann — the short movie captures D Double E and Hamzaa standing as the two protagonists going through the “push and pull of heaven and hell,” only for Double and Hamzaa to reach the calm of heaven at the end.

You can check out the visuals for “Life Line” above and D Double E’s forthcoming EP, No Reign No Flowers, will be available to stream in its entirety from November 10.

In other music news, TikTok has announced its first-ever music festival.
