Cristiano Ronaldo broke FIFA‘s all-time scoring record in his home Old Trafford Stadium over the weekend with his 806th goal against Tottenham.
The 37-year-old Manchester United forward scored a hat-trick for the 3-2 victory, finishing the day with 807 career goals, and surpassing Josef Bican’s previous record of 805 that lasted from 1931 to ‘55.
“Nothing beats the feeling of being back on the pitch and help the team with goals and effort,” Ronaldo wrote in a post. “We’ve proven once again that we can beat any team in any given day, as long as we work hard and stand together as one. There are no limits for Man. United! No matter what! Let’s go, Devils!”
Ronaldo also currently holds the all-time records for most international goals in men’s football at 115, and most Champions League goals at 140. The victory over Tottenham puts Manchester United in the top four of the league table.
