Cowboy Is an E-Bike Brand on a Mission For Change

The e-bike market is in the midst of a boom. According to reports, the industry is tipped to generate almost $54 billion USD by 2027, with an annual growth rate of around 12.27% between now and then.

Despite some of cycling’s biggest names well and truly cornering the market from the outset, a few smaller startups have still been able to make their mark, no less so than Belgium startup Cowboy.

Founded in Brussels in 2017, Cowboy is a label on a mission to transform urban mobility by creating beautifully designed, lightweight and user-friendly electric bicycles. Following the successful launch of its C4 and C4-ST models, the brand soon gained further recognition when it was awarded the Best of the Best Red Dot Design Award midway through last year. Now, as Cowboy continues to evolve, HYPEBEAST takes a closer look at each model, both of which are available to buy globally now.

First up is the C4 which features an upgrade to its quintessential frame, while the C4-ST is a Cowboy first — a step-through model to match a variety of riding styles, heights, and tastes. Both feature 50% more torque which powers Cowboy’s acclaimed automatic transmission, and with no buttons or gears each bike is simple and easy to use, by simply adding acceleration and speed when needed. What’s more, each bike’s removable battery weighs in at just 2.4kg, and with a range of up to 70km, each Cowboy style helps you to always go the distance.

For the tech-heads, both the C4 and C4-ST boast an integrated cockpit in the stem with a built-in quad lock, which securely holds a rider’s phone and provides real-time access to essential information through a Cowboy app. Once docked, the phone will wirelessly connect and charge, directly leveraging the bike’s internal battery.

“The Cowboy 4 completely redefines life in and around cities,” said Adrien Roose, Cowboy co-Founder and CEO. “By designing two frame types featuring our first-ever step-through model, an integrated cockpit, and a new app, we are now able to address a much larger audience and cater to many more riders to move freely in and around cities.”

Find out more about the C4 and C4-ST via the Cowboy webstore, both of which are priced at £2,490 (approximately $2,990 USD).
