Cordae Drops Reflective "The Water (Freestyle)"

Cordae has dropped off a brand new freestyle entitled “The Water.”

The cut hears the young rapper touch on his rise to fame and mental health problems that the general public can relate to, while the track’s accompanying music video sees him dropping bars in Japan, enjoying the sights and connecting with his fans. “The Water” marks Cordae’s second release of 2023, following the Anderson .Paak-assisted and J. Cole-produced cut “Two Tens” from late January.

Cordae’s last full-length release dates back to January 2022’s From a Birds Eye View, which featured guest appearances from Gunna, Lil Wayne, H.E.R., Lil Durk, Freddie Gibbs, Stevie Wonder, Eminem and Roddy Ricch, as well as production work from Kid Culture, Raphael Saadiq, Boi-1da, Dem Jointz, Cordae himself and more. It went on to peak at No. 13 on the Billboard 200.
