Popular Nigerian comedian, AY’s mansion in Lekki, Lagos state, has gone up in flames after a drastic fire accident.
A video making the rounds online, which was recorded by some neighbours, showed AY’s house being consumed by fire on Sunday, August 6, 2023. The rooftop of the beautiful storey-building was seen blazing up intensely.
It was gathered that the award-winning actor’s wife, Mabel, and their two daughters were not in Nigeria at the time of the accident.
However, many colleagues and fans of AY, including his younger brother and fashion designer, Yomi Casual has sympathized with the comedian and his family.
Taking to his social media page, the comic act expressed gratitude to God for the safety of his family. He also shared videos and pictures of his wife and children presently on vacation abroad.
AY further said he would soon join his family in the US, while noting that every other thing in life comes and goes except family.
He wrote, “Family and God. That is what’s important. Everything else comes and goes. Can’t wait to join you guys in the US in a few days.”
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire outbreak is still unknown.
