Coco Jones is expanding her catalog with the release of her new song “Here We Go (Uh Oh).”
Sampling Lenny Williams’ renowned song “Cause I Love You,” the smooth R&B cut has a steady, yet lively sound that rides throughout the song’s entirety. Offering up themes of love, which is common in R&B, the song details the cyclical nature of a relationship – detailing notes of trying to move forward, but still being in each other’s lives.
“Why it’s gotta be your way? I want it to be mine/What, you think this is foreplay? Must be out of your mind/They told me to ignore it, don’t you think that I’ve tried?/And I’ve tried, and I’ve tried, and I’ve tried,” sings Jones in the pre-chorus.
The accompanying music video also sees Jones as a performer during the opening night of her “Here We Go” show. The new song marks Jones’ first single since her 2023 holiday song “A Timeless Christmas.” Before that, she joined forces with BJ the Chicago Kid in September 2023 for “Spend The Night.” Earlier this year, Jones took home the GRAMMY for Best R&B Performance for her song “ICU.”
