Cobra Kai is heading back to Netflix in September.
In a new trailer, the streaming giant has revealed that its highly-popular Karate Kid sequel series will return for its fifth season on September 9. The news was first announced during a panel discussion with the cast during the Netflix Is A Joke comedy festival on Thursday before the trailer was later posted online.
Season five will see the continuation of several action-packed plot lines, including Terry Silver’s (Thomas Ian Griffith) attempt to expand the Cobra Kai dojo while his former friend John Kreese (Martin Kove) serves time in jail, as well as Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Chozen Toguchi’s (Yuji Okumoto) plans to conquer Silver.
“Today is a turning point at Cobra Kai,” Griffith says in the preview. “Our competition has closed up shop, and the only thing better than a full dojo, is a whole valley full of full dojos.”
Additionally, the new season, which is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg via Counterbalance Entertainment, will see Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and his son, Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan), try to track down the long-lost Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña).
