Coachella is returning next spring, and today, the festival announced the full 2022 lineup. Kanye West (officially billed as Ye), Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, and Swedish House Mafia will top the bill this year at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Check out the full lineup for this year’s fest here. Coachella 2022 will take place across two weekends: April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022.
Prior to its COVID-19-related cancellation in 2020, the festival was slated to feature headlining sets by Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, and Rage Against the Machine. Ocean’s Coachella headlining set was postponed to 2023. Scott’s omission as headliner comes months after the Astroworld 2021 tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of 10 people.
Coachella was originally postponed to October 2020 before being canceled outright for the first time in 20 years. It was rescheduled to April 2021 before being once again canceled in January 2021 due to coronavirus concerns.
Coachella 2019 was headlined by Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala. Revisit “What Happens When a Music Festival Is Canceled Due to Coronavirus?” on the Pitch, and follow along with Pitchfork’s full coverage of Coachella 2022.
