Classic 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet Surfaces for Auction

A classic 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet, with a limited production count of around 600 for the North American market, is now available for auction via Bring A Trailer. This particular example has a rich history, having spent over two decades in Canada before making its way to the US in 2017.

The Porsche 911 Turbo is renowned for its distinctive design and powerful performance. This model is no exception, boasting a turbocharged 3.3L flat-six engine paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. The engine, factory-rated at 282 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque, while not overly impressive by today’s standards, was a testament to Porsche’s engineering prowess during that era.

As for aesthetics, the example sports a sleek black exterior over a matching black leather interior, creating a classic and timeless look. The car underwent a repaint under previous ownership, adding to its pristine condition. Complementing its striking appearance is a set of staggered-width 16” Fuchs alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, for added style and performance.

Safety and comfort are not compromised in this vintage vehicle, as it’s equipped with four-wheel cross-drilled and ventilated disc brakes, designed to provide reliable stopping power. For those sunny drives, the car features a replacement black convertible soft top, which Bring A Trailer says has been recently serviced with a new control unit in July 2023.

The interior of the 911 Turbo is just as impressive as its exterior, with power-adjustable front seats, an analog clock, power windows and a modern Continental stereo system. A Racing Dynamics front strut brace has been installed, enhancing the car’s stability and handling. Additionally, the air conditioning system received a comprehensive service in July 2023, ensuring cool comfort for its new owner.

At the time of writing, this ‘89 Turbo, with 71k miles on it, has a top bid of $27,500 USD on it and six days left on the auction clock.
