Chris Martin Announces Coldplay Will Stop Making Music After 2025

Chris Martin has confirmed that Coldplay will likely put out their final album in 2025.

Formed in London back in 1996, Coldplay has taken the world by storm with big hits including “Yellow,” “Fix You,” and “Paradise.” Since then, the band has put out nine albums with their most recent being Music of the Spheres in October. Their collaboration with Korean supergroup BTS “My Universe,” earned the group their second Billboard No. 1 hit.

iNews reported that Martin announced in a conversation with BBC Radio 2 presenter Jo Whiley the band’s future plans, “Well I know I can tell you: Our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour.” He continued, “Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalog as it were, finishes then.” The entirety of the interview airs on December 23.

It is unclear how many albums Coldplay will drop prior to 2025.

In other music news, 24kGoldn, Saweetie, Jack Harlow and more have been announced to perform at Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson’s New Year’s Eve special.
