Chris Hemsworth is going to be immortalized with a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Best known for his role as Thor in the MCU films, the actor will officially be honored on the Walk of Fame later this month.
Hemsworth becomes the next Marvel superstar to receive his recognition. His other Avengers co-stars like Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo have been inducted in the past as did Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle, Benedict Cumberbatch and Josh Brolin.
Attending his ceremony will be filmmaker George Miller, who directed Hemsworth in the latest Furiosa: A Mad Max Sag as well as RDJ. Hemsworth’s name will be seen on the 2,781st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The star signifies his contributions to the industry over the years. Besides his titular role in the MCU, Hemsworth has had major success with the Extraction films for Netflix and is set to voice Optimus Prime for the upcoming Transformers One. He is also expected to co-star with Sam Rockwell for his upcoming spy film Project X from director Matthew Vaughn. Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said in a statement, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor Chris Hemsworth with a well-deserved star. Chris is known for his remarkable performances that have captivated audiences worldwide. “Along with his many fans, I am sure his fellow Australians will be so happy to know that we are adding another talented Aussie to our iconic Walk of Fame.”
Hemsworth’s induction ceremony is scheduled for May 23 at 11:30 a.m. PT and will be live-streamed online
