Chevrolet Celebrates Regional Musical Talent With ‘Find Your Groove’

Known for its car manufacturing legacy, Chevrolet now ventures into the realm of global music. To celebrate the launch of its All-New Chevrolet Groove SUV, the brand has teamed up with rising musical talent from across the Middle East and North Africa to feature on its collaborative Find Your Groove album.

Bringing in support from Arabic hip-hop’s legendary promoter Big Hass, who recently spoke to HYPEBEAST, the latest initiative not only pushes for representation but champions a new generation of artists from across the region to pioneer a new genre titled ME-Pop.

Uniting 12 diverse artists from various genres, backgrounds and nationalities, Find Your Groove crafts a perfect synergy between traditional folk sounds of the Arab world and popular western-influenced contemporary hits. This is aptly displayed in the album’s opening track “Balash Ana” between Bahrain’s Flipperachi and Egypt’s Carmen Soliman.

As well as Mojo and Dr Slim’s “Gasoline”, and Bahjat and Amal Al Maghrabi’s “El Radio” fitting in line with Chevrolet’s ethos, Find Your Groove also features other unexpected collaborations such as Arabic Afrobeat duo Seedo Simba & MazMars teaming up with the incognito Saudi sensation Sheme for the feel-good single “Sit Al Banat.” However, it’s Timbaland‘s musical proficiency and knack for finding new sounds that are giving the album its reverence, following his public support for Jamila El Badaoui and Abd El Fattah Grini’s track “Chokran” which blends traditional music of the Gulf, Morocco and Iraq in melodic harmony.
