Chaka Khan has no interest in collaborating with her fellow female singers anymore, according to a very candid new interview.
While chatting with VladTV (watch below), the legendary singer told host Luenell which artists she would consider working with. But when Ariana Grande‘s name was mentioned, Khan brushed her off. “She’s all right, she’s good on her own. … Plus, I don’t want to sing with another woman. I ain’t got nothing to say with a woman.”
What makes Chaka’s answer especially surprising is that the pair just teamed up last year on “Nobody” for the 2019 Charlie’s Angels soundtrack, which Grande co-executive-produced in 2019. In a red-carpet interview for Variety‘s 2019 Power of Women luncheon, Khan described the song as “cute.” “It’s a song about Charlie’s Angels, the song is not… it’s not going to change the world, OK?” the “I’m Every Woman” singer said at the time.
