It’s not totally surprising that interiors have become the new “thing” in fashion. There were signs that this was happening, of course. A green sofa here, a popular print there—all signs pointed to fashion’s love of It pieces bleeding into homeware. Then, we were locked down thanks to the pandemic, which propelled our love of interiors into overdrive. Increased time in our homes has meant we’ve all been looking around at what we can do better, what we can improve and which pieces will work in that corner of your sitting room next to your sideboard. Discovering your personal style is one of those illusive #lifegoals that has been pondered by fashion magazines for decades and, undoubtedly, baffled women for a similar period of time. The way it’s phrased somehow infers that this is something that should spontaneously pop into your mind’s eye after you’ve put in the required number of hours staring blankly at your open wardrobe. The reality, however, is not quite so transactional, and some people will pin down their “look” at the age of 16, while others need a longer period of experimentation to refine their taste. To be honest, there’s also nothing stopping you from constantly reinventing your style every five years. This is not, after all, some sort of lif...
Do you love to travel the world with a full bathroom, a comfy bedroom, and a decent kitchen? Then look no further than this impressive expedition truck—the EarthCruiser. The formidable 4×4 is designed to take its occupants from the city streets to sand dunes or anywhere you want to go on the planet. The 2020 EarthCruiser overland camper sleeps four and has a 140-inch wheelbase with exterior dimensions similar to a midsize pickup truck. An optional Dual Cab body style with a 169-inch wheelbase is also available, and just recently became available to order. In the Dual Cab configuration the EarthCruiser measures 289 inches long from bumper to bumper, but both versions offer 11.3 inches of ground clearance and a reasonably good approach angle thanks to the short front overhang that comes...
An anonymous source provided the publication with these revealing photos, which show a manual transmission with six speeds and a “C” gear. Presumably, that “C” stands for “crawl.” There are also new photos that give us a closer look at the Bronco’s engine, suspension, and dash setup. The seven-speed manual seems perfect for the soon-to-be-revealed Ford Bronco SUV. Getrag’s own information points to the transmission being aimed at large rear-wheel-drive vehicles—implying a longitudinal engine configuration, which the new Bronco is sure to have—and being configurable for five-, six-, and seven-speed setups. The transmission can handle up to 443 lb-ft of torque and supports all-wheel-drive applications. The optional ultra-low crawler gear would ...
In their mission to raise awareness about social and racial injustice, bass music production outfit Deathpact has unveiled a new t-shirt, and is donating 100% of the net proceeds, split evenly between two organizations fighting for racial equality and equal opportunity Color Of Change and Black Girls Code. The enigmatic artist recently took to social media to announce the initiative. “We stand united in the fight against racism,” they wrote. “We want to use our platform to not only raise funds for but also raise awareness about the social injustices that have been suffered by the black community.” With over 1.7 million members, Color Of Change is the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, influencing decision-makers in corporations and government bodies to f...
Being thrust into a world that is shaped by social distancing has arguably cemented this demand, but now, comfort is at the top of our tick list, closely followed by a craving for mood-boosting styles. “Although there is a global pandemic and people are stuck at home, you can still put on a great dress and instantly lift your mood,” says Lily Russo-Bah, a former fashion editor and the co-founder of Beach Flamingo. “I know for myself, making an effort in the morning has really helped my frame of mind, especially when working from home.” The numbers don’t lie: According to online fashion database Lyst, searches for comfy styles, such as wrap and maxi dresses, are up, with the former seeing a 13% rise week-on-week and the latter a 16% rise year-on-year. “Anything casual and com...
Given this week’s weather, you might feel like now is not the right time to start thinking about sandals, but let me tell you—summer is right around the corner (nine days away, to be precise!). As the days have become longer and blue skies become a more common occurrence, I can’t help but think of the warm days ahead and start planning outfits for when they do arrive. Right now, it seems high time for an at-home DIY pedicure, particularly as the high street is already packed with covetable slides, sandals and summery footwear. As I’ve mentioned several times in the recent past now, I’m quite big on cleaning out my wardrobe. Whether it’s just to declutter, make space for new buys, find pieces I can donate, put together a selection to sell or, oftentimes, all of the above, I find the experience not only rewarding but actually therapeutic as well. Of course, no matter how many times I organise, purge and repeat, there are always certain pieces I simply refuse to part with because I know they will come in handy later. In the “summer staples” category, specifically, a solid five come to mind, so I thought I’d round them up for anyone looking to do some late spring cleaning, early summer shopping or both. To see, read about and (naturally) shop all the items that avoid the “go” pil...
French women have a reputation for being inimitably stylish. After all, why else would their clothing choices, beauty routines and haircare secrets be analysed and emulated the world over? With the new normal resulting in us all staying home more than ever before, our daily clothing choices have inevitably changed. Workwear has been replaced with loungewear, and in many instances, boots and heels have surrendered their top spots as most popular footwear, making way for flats, slides and even bare feet. Right now, many of us are looking for a little inspiration on how to still get dressed properly while staying at home, and given their sought-after style, we thought why not turn to a few French women for some advice? We asked seven stylish Parisian women exactly what th...
Day in and day out, we scroll through Instagram to make sure we’re bringing you the most up to date fashion and beauty trends. (It’s a hard life, but someone’s got to do it.) From the most talked-about products and new drops to the best advice, the social media platform is our favourite place to find out what people in the know are actually using. That’s why, when we decided to compile a list of the best beauty products out there, we thought who better to ask than the women we always stop and ogle? The ones who get sent product after product and have tried and tested them all. That may be why every time we see them, through the app or in real life, we can’t quite get over how amazing their skin looks. We had to know their secrets...
So considering my go-to facial tanning drops (Coola Sunless Tan, FYI) ran out a couple of weeks ago, I can 100% confirm that my bronze is down to my newfound love of matte bronzers. You see, I’ve always loved using bronzer as a way to add some depth and life to my base, but I’ve never been much of a fan of the shimmer or light-reflecting properties that so many of them pack. I’m a no-makeup-makeup kind of girl through and through, and within that, there’s no room for shimmer. This year, however, matte bronzers are taking centre stage. Cult classics like Benefit’s Hoola may have been around for years, but now there’s a whole bunch of different textures, shades and formulas on the scene. Whereas before we might have had only a few to pick from, now there’s something for everybody....
Honestly, I knew that the quiz was more in-depth than others I had done, but I still wasn’t convinced it was going to work. I had already tried a few things from Il Makiage before putting in my foundation order (I found the baked highlight and primer particularly wonderful), so I already knew what to expect from a brand perspective. Everything is remarkably sleek, high-impact but still wearable as well as luxe-feeling. I get serious MAC vibes from this brand. Given this, and knowing it only has one foundation available, I was expecting a full-coverage, matte formula. But what arrived, genuinely blew me away. First of all, the shade is perfect. So much so that I was absolutely convinced at some point I must have included information on the shades I already use, but I kno...
