I’m Suddenly Obsessed With Summer Hats and Love These 15

I always love the idea of a flamboyant sun hat for a holiday, except, in reality, it involves either having to pack it into a suitcase and ruin its shape forever or keep it in pristine condition by wearing it to Gatwick airport at 4 a.m. Neither is ideal. This year, we’re all dressing like we’re going on holiday in the park, so wearing an OTT sun hat is much more appealing when you don’t have the packing problem to contend with.  Thanks to Jacquemus, over the past few years there has been a trend for XL straw boaters, and you’ll find plenty of dramatic sun hats that are so large they double as an umbrella. Ribbons are an added detail that gives a Riviera feel to any straw hat. This summer we’re also seeing the revival of bucket hats you would have wo...

5 Ways to Style Swimwear When You’re Not on Holiday

Shopping for swimwear in 2020 might not have quite the same wanderlust appeal as it would on a normal year of jet-setting, however, after talking to various friends and colleagues it seems as though our appetite for spending on winning swimmers hasn’t totally disappeared during the lockdown. So, whether you’re lucky enough to have your own garden at home or just happy to head to a nearby park, we can all get in the holiday spirit this summer by donning our favourite swimsuit and soaking up some rays staycation-style (with plenty of SPF, obvs).  But alas, this isn’t quite the French Riviera, so we can’t just pad around in our bikinis all day, however, over the last few weeks, I’ve seen so many stylish individuals on ...

This Is the Summer Dress I Always Come Back to

Love dresses? Then you’ve come to the right place. We’re always here for you to document the biggest dress trends and since last summer we noticed that the favourites tended to be of the polka dot variety. Then for this year’s spring/summer collections, polka dots were even bigger news and were featured in an array of different styles—whether oversized or backed by bold colours, summer 2020 is when the polka dot really takes centre stage.  You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. Charlotte Tilbury Actually Heard Us—Magic Cream Light Is Finally Here

However, a few weeks ago, a Charlotte Tilbury parcel turned up at my door. I had a pencil in my diary for a Zoom webinar to celebrate a new launch from the brand the week after, but at the time, I had no idea what the product was set to be. The product, it turned out, was Charlotte’s Magic Cream Light (£75). That’s right, people. She heard us. A Magic Cream alternative for oily skinned guys and gals that delivers skin-perfecting radiance but with a matte, natural-looking finish is finally here. And for the last few weeks, I’ve been giving it a go. Unlike the serum, Magic Cream Light is very much a heavy-duty moisturiser. It’s formulated with vitamin E, SPF20, anti-blue-light technology and the brand’s patented peptide-based smoothing and perfecting ingredient, Replexium. On top o...

I Have a Hunch This Small Beauty Brand Is Going to be the Next Big Thing

When you see a Neighbourhood Botanicals product, you won’t forget it quickly—the glass bottles double as ornaments for your bedside table or bathroom display, as each product has a special illustration as a label that looks like it should be blown up as a wall print. But the brand is much more than Instagrammable packaging—founder Micaela Nisbet works on the formulations from her small lab in Leyton in East London. Her motto is “pure skincare rock’n’roll”, and she strives towards sustainable and ethical practices in all aspects of the business. The range is vegan and cruelty-free and all the packaging is recyclable—”there’s no animal testing, no big-pharma, no crazy markups, and no unnecessary ingredients.” You Deserve to Make Money ...

Following a week of settling into my new apartment – I moved six days before we went into quarantine – and being reunited with my wardrobe (a cause for celebration in itself), I’m becoming accusto...

The 7 Outfits I’ve Loved Wearing This Summer

Over the last few months, everyone has developed different attitudes to social-distancing dressing. Whether you’ve become a comfy co-ord convert, a legging devotee or someone who is militant about staying smart to keep a routine in place, clothing has played an unexpectedly important role in the way we approach our working weeks.  As someone who loves to dress up for work, my approach has been to try and put on something that I feel good in every day, even if it’s just a super-simple ensemble. My general approach has been comfy minimalism with the odd splash of colour or playful detailing. This has meant I have rarely worn jeans (too constricting) and have enjoyed digging out some previously neglected dresses, alo...

Tesla Model S Long Range Plus Beats Rivian to EPA-Rated 400-Mile Range Barrier

Tesla’s Model S electric sedan first went on sale in 2012 offering a then-eye-popping 265 miles of range per charge. In the interim, the sleek four-door EV has added battery capacity as well as many miles to its EPA-rated driving range figures. Now, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced the Model S Long Range Plus variant has picked up an official EPA-rated 402-mile driving range. Musk claims that is a first among production EVs—a key win given the impending all-electric Rivian R1S SUV and R1T pickup truck, which are promised to have 400 miles of maximum range but have yet to receive public EPA certification. What happens in the EV driving-range wars now that Tesla has apparently beaten all comers to the magic 400-mile mark? Well, the debate moves to value—the 402-mile Tesla Model S Long...

Watch Ferrari’s New “Le Grand Rendez-Vous” Film Starring Leclerc and an SF90 Stradale

“C’était un Rendez-vous” (which translates to “It Was a Date”) is probably one of the most famous least-well-known car films: An eight-or-so minute high-speed run through the nearly empty streets of Paris, the whole thing shot from a camera fitted to the bumper of what sounds like a Ferrari (it was actually a Mercedes 450SEL 6.9 with the engine noises from filmmaker Claude Lelouch’s 275GTB dubbed in). At the end of the run, a woman waits. You could question why any self-respecting Frenchman would schedule a date that begins at dawn, but still. (If you’re interested in watching it, some scoundrel posted the full movie to YouTube.) Today, Lelouch, who made the 1976 original and drove the camera car, released his pseudo remake, “Le Grand Re...

5 Skirt Trends You’re Going to See Everywhere This Summer

When it comes to our wardrobes, there are a few key items that tend to get all the limelight. Dresses, for example, are earmarked for life’s most special occasions, and each season, their trends are dissected, analysed and beloved by the masses. Sarah Jessica Parker built an entire career out of an affinity for shoes, not only playing a character who was obsessed with the item but also subsequently parlaying that into a footwear brand of her own. Handbags arguably garner the most hype. After all, who remembers the countless articles that arose after Kylie Jenner gave the world a glimpse into her bag closet?  Though today, we’re here to talk about one of the more underrated wardrobe staples: skirts. Personally, I think the item doesn’t get nearly e...

The Best Ways to Disguise Roots Until You Can Get to a Salon

Especially when working from home, there really is no better get-stuff-done hairstyle. The topknot is the chic yet easy style that most of us will turn to in times of need. But it turns out a topknot doesn’t just have to be the thrown-up, scruffy style we know it to be. In fact, it can be incredibly stylish, all while helping to reduce the appearance of root contrast. John Vial, global influencer for Revlon Professional, explains that by bringing grown-out lengths to the front of the bun, you can create the illusion of more colour. He explains, “For those with long hair, pull your hair up into a pony and wrap, leaving four or five inches on the ends. Use this hair to create a faux fringe at the front, and use clips to hold in place.” But what about visible roots elsewhere? “Gently tug...
