Mikel Arteta says 22-year-old star can bring something special to Arsenal

In a Youtube interview with Ian Wright, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has talked about the excitement of working with Kieran Tierney when the season resumes after the coronavirus shutdown. The Scotland international made the move to the Gunners from Celtic in August last year but he had to wait until late September to make his Cup debut as he was recovering from a double hernia operation. A month later, Tierney made his maiden appearance in the Premier League but he was able to feature in only four more top-flight games before dislocating his shoulder playing against West Ham United in December. Much has changed since then with Arteta succeeding Unai Emery as the club’s head coach and the Spaniard is looking forward to reintroducing the left-back into the first-team plans when the season resta...

According to Le 10 Sport (via GFFN), Leeds United are interested in signing Paris FC centre-back Samuel Yohou this summer, but they face stiff competition from Serie B side Crotone and League One’s Coventry City. The 28-year-old is set to become a free agent this summer and Leeds are hoping to land him as they look to bolster their squad depth at the back. Yohou has played for the Ligue 2 side since 2015 and once played for Ivory Coast under-20s. The 6ft 3in centre-back caught the eyes of Leeds’ scouts due to his physicality, maturity, technicality and ball-playing qualities, and the club are in conversations with the player’s representatives. The Elland Road outfit could be back in the English top-flight next term for the first time since 2004, and it remains to be seen if Yohou can ...

Paul Robinson believes Spurs fans would take £20.25m-rated star with open arms

Paul Robinson has described Willian as a top player and believes the Brazilian would favour a move to Tottenham Hotspur when his Chelsea contract expires during the summer. The 31-year-old has less than two months remaining on his existing deal with the Blues but he has already said that he would remain loyal to the club until the current season concludes. In this case, the winger could remain with Frank Lampard’s side until July or August but he is thereafter expected to pursue a fresh challenge as the Blues have refused to meet his demands for a fresh three-year contract. Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have both been credited with an interest in his services but BeIN Sports’ Richard Keys has recently claimed that the attacker is on his way to Spurs. Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson ...

Liverpool make surprise change in transfer strategy amid ongoing crisis: report

According to The Mirror, Liverpool could have a quiet summer transfer window amid the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The Merseyside outfit have not made any high-profile signings in the past three transfer windows and the trend could continue at the end of the current campaign. RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner has been tipped to join the club over the past few months but it appears the club have cooled their interest as they are unlikely to spend big transfer fees on new signings. Instead, the focus seems on recruiting promising youngsters with a view to long-term success and 17-year-old midfielder Aster Vranckx from Belgian side KV Mechelen, has been identified as one of the targets. Vranckx, who is also on the radar of Manchester City, has already made 10 appearances for Mechelen....

15 EDM Songs MLB Baseball Sluggers Use When Stepping Up to the Plate

In his 2010 single “Thank Me Now,” Drake raps, “Damn, I swear sports and music are so synonymous / ‘Cause we want to be them, and they want to be us.” The relationship between music and sports is symbiotic. Music and sports lift each other up, and the people who engulf themselves in each respective realm share the same vigor, passion, and competitive spirit. That’s why it was all the more painful when the pandemic stampeded its way through our parks, stadiums, courts, and concert venues, forcibly stifling both the music and sports industries with one giant, rubber-gloved tsunami of paranoia and unprecedented stay-at-home ordinances. While those in the music industry have managed to connect with fans via livestreamed concerts and magnificent, lo...

‘Rangers could catch them’ – Ex-Gers boss insists Celtic mustn’t be handed title

Former Rangers manager Ally McCoist wants the Scottish Premiership to complete its campaign, insisting that there is still a chance that Rangers could catch Celtic at the top of the table. With 13 points clear at the top of the table ahead of Rangers, the Parkhead outfit are favourites to land the title again, and a majority of the Scottish top flight clubs have already voted to end the season and declare them champions. Hoops fan Sir Rod Stewart has blasted Rangers for being “childish” after insisting that the campaign must be completed once it is safe to do so, claiming he would want Celtic to give the Light Blues the league if they were 13 points in front with only eight games to go. McCoist doesn’t agree with him, though, insisting the Old Firm duo both want the campaign to resume. “Th...

Report: Everton handed boost in their pursuit of €50m attacker as other suitors back out

Everton have been linked with the Napoli winger Hirving Lozano for a while now. According to Calciomercato (via Sportwitness), the Toffees are the only club after the Mexican right now. Napoli want to recoup most of the €50m they paid for Lozano and the other suitors like Sevilla think the transfer would cost them too much. If that is true, this is certainly a boost for Everton. If they are the only ones after Lozano, they will be able to force Napoli to lower their demands and negotiate a reasonable fee. Apparently, Carlo Ancelotti really wants to sign the player and that has kept Everton in the running despite the other parties backing out of the chase. Lozano is a top-quality attacker and if he can regain his confidence, he could make a big difference for Everton in the final third. The...

Paul Robinson claims that the Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek would be a great addition to Newcastle. He said to Football Insider: “I think he would be a great addition to Newcastle and the Premier League. We saw what Ajax did in the Champions League and the way that the Dutch national side has developed as well. This crop or group of young Dutch players coming through is outstanding.” The 23-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Van de Beek has been outstanding for Ajax in the Eredivisie and the Champions League. He has 14 goals and 7 assists in all competitions this season. There is no doubt that he is a top-class talent who is destined to develop into a world-class midfielder. If Ne...

Jakobs has done well in the Bundesliga this season since his top-flight debut in November and he could be a good addition to Brendan Rodgers’ side. The player has a contract with Koln until 2022 and the Foxes should be able to sign him for a reasonable fee. The youngster can play as a left-back as well as a winger. He will add goals and assists to the team apart from his defensive qua...

Midfielder claims Newcastle teammate could play for Barcelona if he was focused

Matt Ritchie has heaped praise on his Newcastle teammate Jonjo Shelvey. According to the 30-year-old versatile Newcastle star, Shelvey could play for the likes of Barcelona if he stays focused. As per Ritchie, the Newcastle central midfielder has exceptional ability and he could blow teams away if he played for the La Liga giants. However, Shelvey is a big fan of golf and he is often distracted because of that. He said (quotes via Chronicle): “I remember playing against him as a kid – I think he scored a hat-trick, he was unbelievable. “He’s got his moves – ending up at Newcastle. I say to him on regular occasions: ‘if you had your head screwed on you could play for Barcelona’. He’s that good. He’s got everything. “I’ve said to him so many times ‘if you just got head down and focused just ...
