Desiigner Explains Why He Left Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music Record Label

Source: Theo Wargo / Getty Once an internet sensation with the release of “Panda,” Desiinger went from potential Hip-Hop star when he signed with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music label to arguably another rap one-hit wonder (no shots). Since going from hot to cold in a span of months back in 2016, Desiigner’s been vocal about wanting off of Kanye’s record label and finally got his wish last year. Now in his first interview in a minute, Desiigner revealed to the Everyday Struggle team why he wanted to leave the label that Yeezus built and and actually pointed to Kanye’s pivot to Christian music as a reason he felt he needed to move on. “Being with G.O.O.D Music, I was happy and sh*t, but then it was like kinda weird with certain sh*t,” Desiigner explained. After revealing that the comparisons to ...

Tame Impala Zone Out on 18-Minute-Long Remix of “One More Year”: Stream

Earlier this month, London-based online radio station NTS Radio hosted a star-studded 24-hour livestream that featured Tame Impala, among dozens of others. It seems like Kevin Parker had a good time on the show then because he’s partnering with NTS Radio once more, this time to release a dazzling 18-minute-long (!) remix of “One More Year”. The Slow Rush opener clocks in just over five minutes on the band’s new album. But here, in Parker’s hands, it gets a self-described “balearic house reimagining.” A deep bass drum beat thuds in the background while Parker’s vocal track fades in and out of focus, echoing like it’s being broadcast in a massive warehouse. The synths twist slowly by comparison, creating an overall effect that feels like you’re running in a sprint but your vision is blurry. ...

Announcing the collaborative performance on Instagram, Jamie xx described the “special” set as an “actual dream come true.” While no tracklist has yet been provided, the b2b set is tagged as “funk,” “soul,” and “classic disco,” with the participants trading off re...

Alex Alexander Delivers Raw, Soulful EP “Helpless”

Swedish pop sensation Alex Alexander is here with his highly anticipated EP, the scintillating electro-pop and Latin-inspired Helpless. It’s a pristine demonstration of Alexander’s sound, which is highlighted by bouncy rhythms, acoustic guitar plucks, and raw, emotive vocals.  Alexander kicks things off with the project’s title track, a tropical-inspired pop and moombah hybrid that will have listeners yearning for the sun-kissed, utopian vibes of summer. Predicting the Legacies of the Quarantine Livestream Boom

How will the flurry of at-home and in-game performances leave their mark on pop music? “We just wanted to fuck around and have a good time,” Post Malone said, sipping from a beer can in a koozie before holding it aloft. “Cheers, fuckers!” In a thunderous 80-minute set of Nirvana covers, livestreamed from his Utah home on April 24, he was funny and loose, wearing a floral day-dress (not unlike the one Kurt Cobain once wore) and checking if his accompanying band was “hot and ready, Lil Caesar’s style.” “Let’s kick this shit in the ass,” he said, referring to COVID-19, before launching into the whiplashing riff of “Drain You.” Post Malone styles himself as a slouchier version of a golden age axe-wielder. He’s covered rock classics and literally has a Nirvana face tattoo, but on the livestream...
