Joe Exotic Will Formally Ask Donald Trump for a Pardon

Joe Exotic and his legal team are launching a campaign to ask Donald Trump for a pardon. The formal request will come in the next few days, TMZ reports, with the hope that he’ll be able to plead his case to the president, one criminal reality star to another. The subject of Netflix’s Tiger King was sentenced to 22 years in prison, having been found guilty of trying to hire a hitman to kill Carole Baskin, his nemesis, as well 17 counts of (and this is a technical legal term) being a dick to animals. But Exotic has maintained his innocence, and his defense basically boils down to, “Would I have told everyone I would pay good money to have Carol Baskin killed if I was actually going to do it?” So far, his strategy for presidential outreach involves wrapping a bus in an eye...

Mercyful Fate Have 6 or 7 New Songs “About to Be Ready” for First Release in Over 20 Years

Reunited metal legends Mercyful Fate are making progress on what would be their first new music release in more than 20 years. In a new interview, guitarist Hank Shermann revealed that the band has six or seven songs that are “about to be ready” for the long-awaited follow-up to 1999’s 9 album. Mercyful Fate’s initial reunion announcement last year teased new music in the vein of the band’s classic ’80s LPs Melissa and Don’t Break the Oath, in addition to a number of festival appearances. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many of those fests — including Psycho Las Vegas — have been canceled or postponed. But the band members have continued writing and working on music despite being in separate locations. “[Singer] King [Diamond] is living in Texas, in the States. I’m living here north ...

Trump Tours Mask Factory Without Mask as “Live or Let Die” Plays Over Loudspeaker

If you thought Vice President Mike Pence refusing to wear a mask at the Mayo Clinic was peak ridiculousness for this administration, you should’ve known better. Today, Donald Trump visited a Honeywell factory in Arizona that had been converted to manufacture N95 masks. Not only did the president not wear a mask, he toured the facility while Guns N’ Roses’ cover of “Live and Let Die” played on the sound system. Because let’s face it, considering how little this administration seems to understand or respect science, why would we expect them to pick up on irony? According to Washington Post reporter Zach Purser Brown, the music playing over the speakers appeared to be the same playlist from Trump’s rallies — except “Live and Let Die”, which was newly added. “The White House must have picked i...

As spotted on HipHopDX the Harlem native was spending some time with his family last week. On Thursday, April 30 he shared an impressive but nevertheless hilarious video of him double dutching. In the brief clip he is shown jumping with immaculate precision as two ladies twirl the ropes. The second half of the visual he adds some sauce to the jumping by dipping it low like Christina Milian. His caption read “My niece @reesylauren_ didn’t think I could jump. Had to stunt on da family at @sugadugga1988 crib” he wrote. While the video he posted displayed flawless coordination by the “Oh Boy” rapper when we looked into the matter further some une...

15 EDM Songs MLB Baseball Sluggers Use When Stepping Up to the Plate

In his 2010 single “Thank Me Now,” Drake raps, “Damn, I swear sports and music are so synonymous / ‘Cause we want to be them, and they want to be us.” The relationship between music and sports is symbiotic. Music and sports lift each other up, and the people who engulf themselves in each respective realm share the same vigor, passion, and competitive spirit. That’s why it was all the more painful when the pandemic stampeded its way through our parks, stadiums, courts, and concert venues, forcibly stifling both the music and sports industries with one giant, rubber-gloved tsunami of paranoia and unprecedented stay-at-home ordinances. While those in the music industry have managed to connect with fans via livestreamed concerts and magnificent, lo...

Jordan Burns Drops Stunning Deep House Ballad “Anyone”

Brisbane-based producer Jordan Burns today released his new single “Anyone,” a captivating, melodic deep house tune that beautifully roams the euphoric peaks and brooding valleys of both future and deep house. At a slow-burning 124 BPM, “Anyone” is more ballad than banger. Burns employs lush pads, melancholic chord progressions, and the velvety “anytime” vox sample, which is shrewdly pitched down, to set the tone in the verses. Eschewing the use of crunchy saws and metallic bass patches, like he did with his April 2nd release of the menacing “Blown (feat. I.E),” Burns opts for more honeyed, melodic production elements here. The subtle nuances of his refreshing sound are evident throughout, like his sporadic use of airy vocal chops i...
