In the meantime, Lollapalooza is opening up the archives and livestreaming two unique weekly events, Lolla From The Vault and Perry’s Power Hour. Lil Tjay Drops “Ice Cold” Verses About Quarantining on New Song: Stream

New York rapper Lil Tjay has returned with his first new solo single of the year. It’s called “Ice Cold” and it’s arrived with a new music video in tow, too. Update: Lil Tjay has announced the impending release of a new mixtape, State of Emergency, due out on May 8th. Lil Tjay has helped re-popularize Auto-Tune in hip-hop with tracks like his Polo G collaboration “First Place” or his 2019 album True 2 Myself, and he doesn’t step away from the effect here either. As it turns out, he dropped “Ice Cold” as birthday gift to himself to celebrate turning 19 years old earlier this week. “Ice Cold” is an of-the-moment single that’s as mellow as it is catchy. Over a straightforward beat, Lil Tjay sing-raps about losing his mind during the coronavirus pandemic and how exhausting it is experiencing t...

Amanda Palmer Uses Patreon to Announce Separation From Neil Gaiman

The Dresden Dolls singer Amanda Palmer and fantasy author Neil Gaiman have separated. On Sunday night, Palmer broke the news on her Patreon by revealing that Gaiman is living in the UK while she and their son quarantine in New Zealand. On Monday morning, Gaiman took to Twitter to express surprise at her sharing the news without his consent and he requested privacy moving forward. Allegedly an influx of queries regarding Gaiman’s location prompted Palmer to write the Patreon post and make it public, as she assumed that “he’s finally told the internet that he’s left New Zealand.” Palmer confirmed that she’s in lockdown in New Zealand with their four-year-old son, Ash, and said that their break-up is not a result of COVID-19 or lockdown. “All I can say is that I’m heartbroken, I really a...

Josh Radnor and Ben Lee Cover Viral Song “I Wonder What’s Inside Your Butthole”: Watch

Musicians have been getting creative in all sorts of ways while stuck at home during quarantine. Out of all their viral videos, though, the best one has come from a musically inclined toddler named Jolee Dunn who performed a very, very original song called “I Wonder What’s Inside Your Butthole”. Now, Ben Lee and Josh Radnor have shared their own cover version. Over the weekend, Dunn released her blitzed childhood banger by way of her mother’s Twitter account. “Quite honestly, it slaps,” Lisa Rieffel-Dunn said when sharing the video. In the clip, her daughter can be seen jumping up and down, guitar in hand, while she sings her one-hit wonder track: “I wonder what’s inside your butthole/ Maybe there is astronauts/ Maybe there is aliens/ All inside your butthole/ What’s inside your butth...

Jerry Seinfeld’s Five Best Bits in Netflix’s 23 Hours to Kill

Jerry Seinfeld has left the car, put down the coffee, and returned to the stage. Yes, the blockbuster comic is back in his natural setting for Netflix’s 23 Hours to Kill, his first original special since — believe it or not — 1998’s I’m Telling You for the Last Time. This time around, he’s traded Broadway for the legendary Beacon Theatre, where he delivered a set chock full of all the kind of observational humor that has us revisiting his landmark series on repeat. It’s a pretty good run. Pretty, pretty, pretty good. Because part of the joy of Seinfeld is taking his observations to heart and fraudulently sharing them as your own, we’ve culled together the five best bits from the special below, all for your thieving leisure. Just be sure to say ’em with Jerry’s inflection. Some white sneaks...

Germany’s BigCityBeats Hosted The World’s First “Drive-In Rave” Amid COVID-19 Lockdown

Out of all the music genres, the electronic music scene has perhaps led the way in introducing innovative techniques to reach its audience. What began with livestreams have now blossomed into full-on car raving. This creative approach was imagined by the German team behind the festival WORLD CLUB DOME. Since it was postponed to 2021 due to the current global pandemic, they put on their thinking caps and came up with the idea of bringing the event to a parking lot, allowing fans to experience the first-ever livestreaming event from inside the Autokino Düsseldorf Drive-In Cinema Stadium. BigCityBeats’ WORLD CLUB DOME Drive-In featured amazing pyrotechnics, fireworks, and artists like DJ Le Shuuk, Tiefblau, Plastikfunk, and Topic taking the stage in front of a line of cars filled with r...

Boys Noize Surprises Fans With Raw Analog Album “STRICTLY BVNKER”

Boys Noize surprised his fans today with a brand new mini album called STRICTLY BVNKER. Recorded during livestreams via Twitch over the course of the last few days of April, the final project is a microcosm of Boys Noize’s raw analogue sessions. Spanning 7 tracks, STRICTLY BVNKER oozes with the dark, ominous flavors that catapulted Boys Noize to the upper echelon of electronic music in the early 2000s. The project proves that he’s still riding that pinnacle, representing a pristine song-cycle of electro house and breaks that are bursting at the seams with industrial flair. Each track is ideal for an underground warehouse party and they encompass a broad range of electronic subgenres, including midtempo (“4TWNTY2”), breaks (“Mftrfckr”), and left...

MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund Now Depleted of Financial Resources

The charitable foundation MusiCares, an organization dedicated towards supporting music industry professionals in need of financial assistance, has run out of monetary resources. Amid the ongoing pandemic, MusiCares launched their COVID-19 Relief Fund last month, which has drawn an unprecedented influx of applications. The depletion of funds has now caused the organization to halt new applications for the time being. The fund, which was started with two $1 million donations from the organization itself as well as its affiliate, The Recording Academy, went on to raise $14 million in total. The resources were raised from individuals as well as charitable corporate partners including SiriusXM, Spotify, and Pandora. However, as the pandemic has persisted, the orga...

Tier Drop Ranks Parks and Recreation Characters on Twitch

Just when we needed them the most, the greatest public servants of all time returned with the Parks and Recreation special. Even while socially distancing, Leslie Knope, Ron Swanson, Donna Meagle, and the rest of Pawnee’s favorite residents reminded us how to look out for each other and to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, work. So to honor the members of the Parks and Rec department, we’re ranking them all on our Twitch show Tier Drop. What’s going to make this particular ranking so challenging is how great the core cast of Parks and Rec is. Whether dorky like Ben Wyatt or baller like Tom Haverford, irritatingly perky like Chris Traeger or lovably misanthropic like April Ludgate, the Pawnee Parks Department is full of people you want to watch. And that’s sayin...
