Blige, Cameron Britton, David Castañeda, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Colm Feore, Adam Godley, Robert Sheehan, and Aidan Gallagher. Grimes’ Mom Calls Out Elon Musk Over “Red Pill” Comment

Families usually grow closer when a new baby arrives. However, Grimes, Elon Musk, and their newborn son aren’t what you would call your typical family. Just two weeks after the birth of X Æ A-12, Grimes’ mother is feuding with the Space X founder over Twitter. As The Cut points out, the familial tensions began with Musk’s controversial political comments over the weekend. On Twitter, he encouraged his followers to “Take the red pill,” using the memorable Matrix scene as a euphemism for a right-wing political awakening. (The Matrix director Lilly Wachowski promptly took him to task with an f-bomb.) The phrase “red-pilling” also happens to have been infamously adopted by men’s rights activists (more unsavory people, do we sense a pattern here?), and this is where Grimes’ mother, Sandy G...

Matt Cameron and Taylor Momsen Cover Soundgarden’s “Halfway There” in Honor of Chris Cornell: Watch

Three years ago today the world lost Chris Cornell. In honor of the late and great frontman, fellow Soundgarden bandmate and Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron and The Pretty Reckless leader Taylor Momsen teamed up to cover “Halfway There”. The two musicians performed their collaborative rendition on video, broadcasting from their own respective quarantine spaces. Cameron primarily handled the guitar, while Momsen delivered a solemn yet strong vocal performance of Soundgarden’s 2012 King Animal track. Watch below. The Pretty and Reckless played an opening set for what would eventually be considered Cornell’s final live performance in 2017. In a recent interview with Kerrang!, Momsen said was she deeply affected by the deaths of Cornell, whom she considered a musical hero, and The Pretty R...

Tier Drop Ranks The Office Characters on Twitch

Last week, the cast of The Office reunited to bring us all some good news — but mainly superfans John and Susan, who got to watch John Krasinski, Steve Carell, Mindy Kaling, Ed Helms, and more do the infamous wedding dance to celebrate their surprise nuptials. This past Saturday also happened to be the anniversary of the classic sitcom’s series finale. In light of all of this, we’re heading to Scranton, the Electric City, to rank the characters of The Office on our Twitch show Tier Drop. It’s rare for a primary cast to feature so many characters that could easily be fan-favorites. Sure, there’s the Michael Scotts, Jim Halperns, Jim Halperts, Pam Beeslys, and Dwight Schrutes, who center much of the show’s story. But swipe that ruler across the desk and you’re bound to bump into a ...

Peep The Trailer To Spike Lee’s Vietnam Film ‘Da 5 Bloods’ [Video]

Source: Netflix / Netflix t’s been more than a year since we learned that Chadwick “Black Panther” Boseman was cast in Spike Lee’s newest project, Da 5 Bloods. While it may sound like a film about gangbanging, it’s actually much deeper than that. The Oscar-winning director’s latest film centers around four African-American Vietnam veterans – Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.) – who come together to fulfill a pact made when they were young soldiers serving on the front lines of Nam. Now well into their senior years, the four men return to Vietnam five decades later to not only retrieve the remains of their deceased squadron leader (Chadwick Boseman), but also dig up a treasure chest filled with enough gold to have them set fo...

Why High-Profile Hacks Could Increase Amid Pandemic-Prompted Remote Work

Employees in non-office settings create cybersecurity vulnerabilities, experts say, and without intervention more entertainment companies could fall victim to hacks like the one that hit Grubman Shire. Hackers are threatening to release a treasure trove of private data stolen from one of Hollywood’s top talent law firms if it doesn’t pay a $42 million ransom — and experts say companies are increasingly vulnerable to attacks like this because their employees are working remotely during the novel coronavirus pandemic. Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks earlier this month was hit by a ransomware attack — with a group called REvil taking responsibility for the hack and posting online part of a Live Nation employment contract for Madonna‘s recent world tour as proo...

Watch CammWess Perform Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ Ahead of ‘The Voice’ Finale

The Voice finale is this week, and the remaining contestants aren’t messing around. CammWess kicked off the show with a stirring rendition of Prince‘s iconic “Purple Rain.” It’s hard to believe the delivery was done remotely, as CammWess performed on a patio that looked like a full-blown arena stage with purple lights and haze. The hopeful star topped it off with a Prince-inspired satin purple jacket. “I want to party at your house with the fog machine and purple haze, that felt nice,” his former coach Kelly Clarkson said of the scenery, as she swayed to the performance with a glass of red wine in hand.”CammWess, you know I love you, man. I’m like, it was so hard to not pick you in that one moment because you’re so, so gifted.R...

Premiere of Carnage’s Autobiographical Documentary “The Price of Greatness” Is Now Live

Barnstorming DJ and producer Carnage has premiered his new full-length documentary The Price of Greatness. The autobiographical project offers fans an intimate glimpse into the life of the oft-misunderstood producer, who has at times been considered among the most popular dance music artists in the world while also being among the most polarizing. However, through all the ups and downs, the festival trap pioneer remained one of the most prolific tastemakers in bass music while consistently pushing the genre’s envelope. Blending hip-hop with kinetic electronic flavors, Carnage was able to lock down collaborations with the likes of G-Eazy, Migos, Meek Mill, and Young Thug, among many other figures in hip-hop’s corps d’elite. The Price of Greatness, which Carn...

Remo Drive Belt Their Hearts Out on New Song “Ode to Joy 2”: Stream

It looks like A Portrait of an Ugly Man will be quite a musical leveling up for Remo Drive. The Midwest indie rockers have shared another new song from the album, a tongue-in-cheek number called “Ode to Joy 2”, as well as a music video to go with it. From the sound of it, they’re ready to start wooing new fans over the radio with the track. “Ode to Joy 2” is the second single we’ve heard from Remo Drive’s upcoming full-length, following “Star Worship”. Whereas that track was an uptempo primer for a return to the sound of their breakout debut, 2017’s Greatest Hits, this new song leans back cooly, taking its time with a slow-burning funk bass line and suave vocals. Come to think of it, “Ode to Joy 2” almost sounds like an Arctic Monkeys ballad. In a statement, vocalist Erik Paulson explained...

Here, bassist and vocalist Laura Lee Ochoa pens post-it reminders to herself lest she fails to recall a meaningful moment. “One to remember/ Writing it down now/ So we won’t forget,” she sings over a smooth, soothing arrangement. Her voice is reminiscent of Sade, an artist Ochoa has long admired. “Memory is a powerful thing,” Khruangbin note in a statement. “Now more than ever it’s important to tell the people you love that you love them, so that they don’t forget.” Editors’ Picks Check out today’s new song via a video directed by Scott Dungate and co-produced by ...
