Pearl Jam is no stranger to Chicago sports. They’ve performed at Wrigley Field multiple times. They’ve brought out a rolodex of athletes on stage. Hell, they’ve even written a song for the Cubs. In a sense, they’re as much a Chicago band as they are a Seattle export, and all of this has to do with the Midwestern blood that pumps through frontman Eddie Vedder. So, it’s not just poetic, but rather fitting that Vedder and co. would close down shop on ESPN’s The Last Dance, the fantastic 10-episode docuseries on Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls that have kept us sane these past five weeks. “Time to go,” a now-grey Phil Jackson says of his Chicago Bulls. Soon after, the soft strings of Pearl Jam’s “Present Tense” begin — and with it the emotions. Slowly, we float around Chicago’s United Cen...
Some flies are too awesome for the wall, even while quarantined. That’s why the entire cast of Community, including Donald Glover, is reuniting for a virtual table read and Q&A today at 5:00 p.m. ET via the Community YouTube channel. The event will raise money for COVID-19 charities — and, unintentionally, add more fuel to the fire of those movie rumors. In addition to Glover, who left the series in Season 5, the event will include Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong, and series creator Dan Harmon. After concluding the reading, the cast will stroll down memory lane by answering questions from viewers. Fans can submit their questions on social media by using #AskCommunity and tagging @CommunityTV. Obviously that list excludes Ch...
Ken Osmond, who famously portrayed the character Eddie Haskell on the beloved 1950’s TV sitcom Leave it to Beaver, has died at the age of 76. Variety reports that Osmond died at his Los Angeles home on Monday (May 18th) surronded by family members. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. In 1957, at the age of 14, Osmond was cast to play Eddie Haskell, the best friend of Wally Clearer, on Leave it to Beaver. Originally, the character was only to have a bit role on the show, but producers were so enamored with Osmond that they kept him onboard for all six seasons. The character of Eddie Haskell became synonymous with mischievous double-talk, a polite sycophantic to grownups who would then make fun of them behind their backs. He was also well-known for his pranks, such as when...

A cryptic teaser from Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo‘s production project The Neptunes was shared on Saturday, leaving fans scrambling to figure out what the duo is up to. All was uncovered this morning, as deadmau5 shared an image of a mau5head made out of pomegranate, revealing that he would be joining them on a new track named after the fruit. Unfortunately, nothing else was revealed about the new song other than the title and that it will be released on deadmau5’s label, mau5trap. Although the masked EDM sensation has not worked with the Grammy-winning production duo in the past, back in 2013 he was joined by Williams for an episode of his “Coffee Run” interview series. At the time of writing, neither deadmau5 nor The Neptunes hav...
If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that you can take the person out of the rave, but you can’t take the rave out of the person. That was the unofficial mantra of last weekend’s EDC Las Vegas Virtual Rave-A-Thon, which went down as one of the largest virtual music festivals to emerge from our time in quarantine. Such a monumental event required its artists to pull out all the stops in order to shake up the livestream game, like SVDDEN DEATH, who performed a barbaric set as his sinister alter ego VOYD, and NGHTMRE and Ghastly, who showed out with a special B2B set. Enter David Guetta, who pulled a rabbit out of his hat by renting out fabled Miami nightclub LIV for his ballyhooed Rave-A-Thon set. Guetta’s performance was unqu...
Source: photo: Abel Fermin/WENN.com One of the most celebrated films of any genre is about to brought back to life. If the hearsay is correct we could possibly get a melanin version of one the most iconic gangsters in cinema history. As spotted on High Snobiety things are moving quickly for the movie reboot of Scarface. Last week was formally announced that the reboot is officially back on track with the appointment of Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) as the director. According to Newsweek Michael B. Jordan is now being considered to play Tony Montana. The Black Panther actor would potentially reprise the role, that while was originally conceived in the original 1932 version, was made famous by Al Pacino in 1983. This reboot has been in the works for som...
Source: NBC / Getty Much has been said about the uncomfortable testing method for the Coronavirus but with the pandemic continuing to rage throughout the world, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo decided to show just how quick and easy the test can be. Stressing the importance of testing and imploring New Yorkers to go out and get tested for the virus at Sunday’s press conference, Gov. Cuomo decided to get tested himself on live TV to prove you don’t have to be “New York tough” to go through the procedure. Standing up straight while a doctor in protective gear inserted a nasal swab into his nose to take a sample, the moment was a stern reminder of what elected officials are supposed to do in order to reassure their constituents that at the end of the day we’re all in this together. Source: Alexander Tamargo / Getty Rick Ross is going to have to pay up. Court documents have confirmed that Rozay is indeed the father of former partner Briana Camille’s two smaller children. This is a win for Camille since the Miami rapper apparently booted her from the crib in late 2019. The good folk at Bossip got the tea: The Maybach Music CEO is more than 99 percent likely the dad of three-year-old Berkeley and two-year-old Billion, according to DNA test results filed as part of the case. The news comes as Briana Camille, who is pregnant with the former couple’s third child, requested immediate temporary child support for the children. She said that Ross hasn’t contributed financially to the kids since he kicked them out of his house late last year, according to court papers obta...
Source: Michelle Thorpe – PA Images / Getty It seems that Kanye West‘s plans for his childhood home aren’t coming to fruition without a few problems after the city of Chicago halted renovation to the old crib. According to the Chicago Tribune, Kanye West has run into trouble with the city of Chicago while in the midst of renovating the South Side home he grew up in. The city issued a stop-work order in February after it said it found plaster had been removed without a building permit. This makes the second time that the city has filed a citation against the tan house located at 7815 S. South Shore Dr. after it reportedly landed in demolition court last year after the city claimed it had “dangerous and unsafe conditions.” Work has since resumed on the property since the latest issue, t...
