“Quarantine Diaries” is an editorial series in which EDM.com invites members of the music community to contribute guest posts about how they’re coping with the pandemic. The goal of the series is to provide a platform for these individuals to share their own experiences and perspectives and ultimately inspire anyone experiencing pitfalls contrived by the impact of COVID-19. The thoughts and viewpoints expressed are those of the author, Miriam Nervo of NERVO. I’m going to start with my mindset. I think this pandemic has really changed a lot for me. It’s changed a lot in terms of the way that I greet strangers moving forward, and the way I take wearing masks, which is very seriously. I think from now on whenever I’m feeling a little under the weather, I’m goi...
Fabled UK electronic music festival Creamfields has officially been postponed due to the impact of COVID-19. Creamfields is the UK’s oldest and arguably most illustrious electronic dance music festival. Back in February of this year, they released a mammoth lineup, which featured Deadmau5, Tiësto, and Martin Garrix, among many others among EDM’s corps d’elite. All three of those artists, however, have already been confirmed for the rescheduled event along with a few others, like Eric Prydz and Hot Since 82, which should do well to allay the concerns of current ticket-holders. Originally planned for August 27th, 2020, the next edition of Creamfields will now take place August 26th to 29th, 2021. Organizers from the fest shared a full statement via Twitter that in...

After years of punching in the clock for both The Kills and The Dead Weather, frontwoman Alison Mosshart made her solo debut with last month’s single “Rise”. Assuring fans this isn’t a one-time affair, the frontman has returned with her second solo offering in “It Ain’t Water”. Both minimalistic and atmospheric in tone, the four-minute track sees Mosshart brooding quietly over lonesome guitar and wispy percussion. “I don’t know your name, but I like the way you look at me in that suspicious way,” she sings. According to a statement, the new song was recorded with veteran musician and producer Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Chris Cornell, PJ Harvey). “He’s such a talent and such a kind person. His mind is wide open,” Mosshart said of Johannes. “He understands and sees th...
Several months after premiering the track right here at Heavy Consequence, hardcore veterans Cro-Mags have unveiled the music video for “From the Grave”. The song features a guest spot from Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell, who also appears in the video. The video stars Cro-Mags founder Harley Flanagan as he makes his way from a cemetery in The Bronx through the streets, subway stations, and alleyways of New York City. “The idea for the video is that I’m rising from the grave and going on a mission… like I came back from the dead to become the Grim Reaper himself,” stated Flanagan in a press release. “I think anybody who knows the history of this band and of my life will get it. It starts off at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, where I will be buried with my family and in-laws. In the open...
Following the release of her debut single “Rise” a few weeks ago, The Kills singer Alison Mosshart has shared “It Ain’t Water.” The new song is a slow burner with a video that sets the mood. Mosshart dances around herself in the foreground while a closeup of the rock artist is superimposed on the clip singing the track. She recorded the song with Alain Johannes (Queen of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey), which she said was a great experience. “Working with Alain on ‘It Ain’t Water’ was a blast,” Mosshart said in a statement. “He’s such a talent and such a kind person. His mind is wide open. He understands and sees the beauty in imperfection, magic moments, accidents- the soulful human stuff, and the spirited super-human hard to explain stuff that makes a song great. Working with him was...
Last week, a decades-old feud between Mark Lanegan and Liam Gallagher that stemmed from an Oasis-Screaming Trees tour was reignited over a passage in the ex-Screaming Trees singer’s memoir. Now, Lanegan seems to be extending the proverbial olive branch. “[The book] doesn’t reflect how I actually feel about [Gallagher] now,” Lanegan said to PA (via Metro). “I see his clips on Twitter now and it makes me laugh, he’s kind of an eccentric old uncle.” In his book, Lanegan also called Gallagher “an obvious poser, a playground bully. Like all bullies, he was also a total pussy.” While the two were set to have a fistfight, it never happened. However, Gallagher wanted to share his side of the story and shared his thoughts on Twitter last week (May 4). “Mark lannegn here’s how I saw it I asked you y...

I’m training them boys right. Ask any of my nephews, ask any of them, ask my son. They was 12, 13, they got head. That’s how it’s supposed...
