The legendary Joey Ramone would have turned 69 today (May 19th), and the occasion is being marked with the annual “Birthday Bash” tribute in his honor. Only this time, due to the pandemic, it will be a virtual celebration, with members of Ramones, Green Day, Sex Pistols, and more performing. The “Joey Ramone Virtual Birthday Bash” kicks off tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET on the official Facebook page of the late punk icon. Among the performers are onetime Ramones members CJ Ramone and Richie Ramone, Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, Dictators guitarist Andy Shernoff, David Bowie guitarist Earl Slick, and more. If you thought that time would soften the forever-going feud between Roger Waters and David Gilmour, think again! In a video posted on Tuesday, Waters ripped his ex-Pink Floyd bandmate, saying that Gilmour has cut off his access to the Pink Floyd website and that Gilmour thinks he owns it. “Nothing from me is on the website — I am banned by David Gilmour from the website,” Waters said, clearly irked. “I think he thinks because I left the band in 1985 that he owns Pink Floyd, that he is Pink Floyd and that I’m irrelevant that I should keep my mouth shut. Green Day, Weezer and Fall Out Boy’s Hella Mega Tour Pushed to 2021
In what should come as a surprise to no one, Green Day, Weezer and Fall Out Boy have pushed their Hella Mega stadium tour to 2021. The bands announced the news in tweets on Tuesday (May 19) morning. “Hopefully this doesn’t come as a surprise, but as much as we were all looking forward to seeing you all this summer, everyone’s safety is our highest priority so we’ve officially made the call to reschedule all North American dates of the Hella Mega tour until next year,” a statement read. Hella Mega was supposed to hit 20 stadiums in the U.S., including Dodger Stadium, Wrigley Field, Citi Field, Fenway Park and more.
