Disciples’ ‘Tunes to Lockdown To’ Playlist

With everyone sequestered and self-quarantining due to the coronavirus, we’ve asked our favorite artists to come up with playlists that keep you entertained. Here are British production trio Disciples. This is pretty much just a collection of tracks that we’ve been listening to whilst being stuck inside. Some of them are good to kick back to and some of them are good to remind you what partying is like. Hopefully, this won’t last for too much longer and we can all party together soon. Rakim – “Remember That”This guy doesn’t really need an intro, to be honest. This track is from his first album after he split with Eric B. What else do you want from a classic hip hop beat. Tom Misch, Yussef Dayes – “The Real”These two are also South London boys. This collab is sick. We really rate both of th...

How Brad Paisley Put on a Full Production Arena Show and Kept Everyone Safe (Including Himself)

Last Friday, Brad Paisley and his band played a full production arena show, sponsored by Bud Light Seltzer. It was one of the first shows since the COVID-19 pandemic started earlier this year to feature all the bells and whistles of a regular concert. Beamed online from the Steel Mill, a production space in Nashville where Paisley rehearses his tours, the only thing missing was a live audience. As Paisley details below, it took tremendous work and extreme attention to every detail to ensure that all safety standards were met, even navigating with precision how he and his guitar tech would switch guitars. He tells Billboard how the show came together and the possibilities for more live entertainment on the horizon. Billboard: How did you feel on that stage with the full production and your ...

In another first, The Voice finale had a crossover with another NBC brand, Songland, with competitors getting to collaborate with the latter series’ songwriters. Tilghman, the lead pastor of Cornerstone Church in Meridian, Mississippi, wins $100,000 and a recor...

Billy Corgan Gives Quarantine Performance of “Hard Times” on Fallon: Watch

Despite his fondness for far-right, anti-government figures like Alex Jones, Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan seems to be abiding by stay-at-home orders. He’s even grown himself a quarantine beard (!) — which he proudly showed off during an in-home performance for Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show. Supporting his 2019 solo album, Cotillions, served up a delicate rendition of his song “Hard Times”. Watch below. Corgan’s Pumpkins were supposed to go on tour with Guns N’ Roses this summer, but obviously that’s no longer happening. On the plus side, it gives Corgan ample time to finish up those two new studio albums he’s been promising. [embedded content] You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. The Residents Announce New Album, Share “Die! Die! Die!” with Black Francis: Stream

The veteran art-rock collective The Residents have announced a new double-disc album called METAL, MEAT & BONE: The Songs of Dyin’ Dog. The first single, “Die! Die! Die!”, comes with a Trump and coronavirus-inspired music video, along with unhinged vocals from Black Francis of Pixies. METAL, MEAT & BONE arrives July 10th, and if you’re wondering, “Who’s this Dyin’ Dog?”, The Residents have provided a typically cracked answer. According to a statement, Dyin’ Dog was a bluesman from the 1970s born with the name Alvin Snow. Before his mysterious disappearance on January 13th, 1976, Dyin’ Dog apparently recorded a ten-song demo. As the story goes, The Residents were fortunate enough to rediscover this long-lost masterpiece, and have now used it as the basis for METAL, ME...

Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor to Write Legally Blonde 3 with Reese Witherspoon Returning

Time to brush up on that bend and snap, because Elle Woods is back. Deadline reports that Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor have been tapped to write the script for Legally Blonde 3, which will see Reese Witherspoon return to star. Witherspoon first announced the threequel to 2001’s Legally Blonde and 2003’s Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde back in 2018. At the time, original scribes Karen McCullah and Kirsten Smith were expected to serve as screenwriters. However, Kaling and Goor (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation) have now been brought onboard to take the story in an entirely new direction. What that story is remains to be seen. The first movie saw Witherspoon’s fashion-focused sorority girl character attending Harvard Law to prove she’s “serious” enough ...

Here’s What the First Socially Distant Concert in America Looked Like

America’s first socially distant, coronavirus-era concert took place in Arkansas on Monday, and it served as a preview of what the new normal could look like for live music fans. Health experts have predicted that shows wouldn’t able to return until Fall 2021 “at the earliest.” But that didn’t stop Bishop Gunn singer/guitarist Travis McCready from being the first artist to experiment with the format last night at TempleLive in Fort Smith, a city located right on the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma. Due to the pandemic, heavy restrictions were in place all throughout the venue. The allowed capacity was cut down from 1,000 people to just 200, and all attendees were kept six feet apart whether by official tape or by specific grouped seating. Additionally, concertgoers had their temperatures t...
