Guns N’ Roses Push Summer Stadium Tour Due to COVID-19 Outbreak

Add Guns N’ Roses to the evolving list of bands that have postponed shows due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The band announced in a tweet that the tour is being “rescheduled out an abundance of caution.” In March, GNR played a festival in Mexico as the outbreak was getting worse and that proved to be the last show they’ll be playing for quite some time. At that show, they performed the Use Your Illusion rarity “So Fine” for the first time in several decades. Guns N’ Roses previously pushed their South American tour dates, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t stayed busy. Axl Rose has been beefing with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, the band had some thoughts on Trump amid the outbreak and are releasing a children’s book as well. If that’s not enough, we looked back at the band’...

Justice League‘s Snyder Cut Is (Almost) Real — And HBO Max Plans To Release It

DC fans, rejoice: The Snyder Cut of Justice League is finally being released! Well, kind of. Director Zack Snyder, who initially helmed the 2017 superhero blockbuster but left before production was complete due to a family tragedy, revealed on Wednesday (May 20) that the world will soon indeed get to see his vision of the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Snyder Cut will hit the new streaming service HBO Max (launching on May 27), likely sometime in 2021. The final shape it’ll take remains a question, though it could be one four-hour cut of the film or split up into six “chapters.” After Snyder left the film in mid-2017, Avengers director Joss Whedon was brought in to retool the film and to keep its slated release date in November. But the mythical Snyder Cut...

‘Batwoman’ Star Ruby Rose Officially Walks Away From The Television Series

After only one season of donning the cape and cowl of the caped crusader on the CW’s superhero series Batwoman, lead star Ruby Rose is walking away from the role she once referred to as a “game changer.” Variety is reporting that the Orange Is The New Black star has officially hung up her cape and decided to remove herself from the hit television series even though a second season was already confirmed to be underway. “I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season,” said Rose in a statement. “This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles. I am beyond appreciative to Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Caroline Dries for not only giving me this inc...

‘Empire’ Star Bryshere Gray’s Dog Accused of Causing $26K In Home Damage

Source: FOX / Getty Bryshere Gray may have been the “top dog” on the hit show, Empire, but it seems his dog in real life is being accused of causing some pretty extensive damages at his rental home and the landlord wants the money back. According to TMZ, Chicago landlords Vinod Venugopal and Payal Shah sued the Empire star after claiming that Gray and his dog “terrorized” the building he rented while filming the hit show’s final season. In court documents obtained by the site, the landlords say they rented Gray a condo inside their four-unit Chicago complex in August 2019, it was there that they claim Gray, among other things, left his dog inside the condo for extended periods of time. They also claim the dog was left unattended in common areas in the complex and urinated an...

Valhalla – WOLFTOOTH

RATING: 8/10 The mistake a lot of media folk continually make about heavy metal is the assumption that most metalheads have any real desire for the genre to change. Sure, we can all cope with a few hundred nebulous subgenres and nobody will complain if someone conjures a brand new form of metal that elicits the same electrifying feeling as “The Trooper” or “Angel of Death”, but if all we get from now until the end of time (could be soon, folks, don’t make any major plans!) is excellent examples of the heavy metal we already know and love, would that really be a problem? Not for me. Just for the record. WOLFTOOTH are a band you can trust to uphold heavy metal values. It’s clear from the band’s name, the album’s title and its splendidly old-sch...

Julianna Barwick Announces New Album Healing Is a Miracle, Shares “Inspirit”: Stream

Julianna Barwick has announced a new album called Healing Is a Miracle just in time to help soothe our global anxiety. It’s her first record in four years and is due out on July 10th via Ninja Tune. To celebrate, she’s shared the lead single, “Inspirit”, along with a scenic music video that captures the mood. Healing Is a Miracle was built on improvisation, reflection, and collaboration. In particular, the latter takes shape in the form of some very notable guest features by Jónsi of Sigur Rós, Nosaj Thing, and Mary Lattimore. While this may appear like a departure from her past work, the press release assures that Healing Is a Miracle is a natural evolution from her previous albums, including 2016’s Will and 2013’s Nepenthe. Barwick began drafting ideas for Healing Is a Miracle last sprin...

Beyond the Boys’ Club: Maria Brink of In This Moment

Beyond the Boys’ Club is a monthly column from journalist and radio host Anne Erickson, focusing on women in the heavy music genres, as they offer their perspectives on the music industry and discuss their personal experiences. This month’s piece features an interview with Maria Brink of In This Moment. In This Moment reinvent themselves from album to album, so it’s no surprise that the band’s latest record, Mother, has a fresh style and feel. Their previous LP, 2017’s Ritual, was a concept album of sorts, centering around the Salem Witch Trials. Mother is a deeply personal and serious album lyrically, with solid rock riffing, experimental electronics, and singer Maria Brink’s soulful vocals. Mother was released in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the band choosing not to postpone ...
