Kendall Roy’s Succession Season 2 Rap Is Now Streaming

Last season’s Succession had its fair share of moments, but none was quite as, uh, interesting as when Kendall Roy (for a lack of a better term) let loose with a freestyle that was supposed to pay tribute to his father Logan “L to the OG.” Now, you can listen to that moment without having to scroll through the episode (and/or YouTube). HBO released a version of that, which features the vocals of Jeremy Strong and musical composition by Nicholas Britell. And, it’s just as cringeworthy as you remember when it first happened. For those of you unfamiliar, here are some of the lyrics: “Bro, don’t get it twisted, I’ve been through hell / But since I stan Dad, I’m alive and well. Shaper of views, creator of news / Father of many, paid all his dues. The Succession Season 2 soundtrack is ...

Zack Snyder’s Justice League Director’s Cut to Debut on HBO Max in 2021

Calls from rabid fans and the film’s stars alike have been heard: Warner Bros. will #ReleaseTheSnyderCut of Justice League on HBO Max next year. The director’s cut has been rumored ever since the original film nearly tanked the entire DC Extended Universe back in 2017. Zack Snyder and his producer wife, Deborah, had left the project following the suicide of their 20-year-old daughter, Autumn. Joss Whedon, who’d led the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s massively successful superhero team-up adventure The Avengers was brought on to finish Justice League. In addition to handling all the post production work, Whedon shot numerous new scenes, many of which are some of the movie’s most lambasted. “You probably saw one-fourth of what I did,” Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter, adding that he...

Nickelback Cancel North American Tour Due to COVID-19

Not even Nickelback is safe from COVID-19: the Canadian rockers have pulled the plug on their All the Right Reasons 15th anniversary tour due to concerns over the pandemic. The tour was scheduled to kick off in mid-June, with direct support from Stone Temple Pilots, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, and Switchfoot. In announcing the tour’s cancelation, Nickelback wrote, “The ability to make music, tour and share memorable experiences with everyone across the world is all that we could have ever possibly imagined and hoped for throughout our career.” “Over the past few months we have been in constant communication with our team, tour industry professionals, medical professionals and everyone that could help guide us collaboratively on a safe path forward,” the band continued. “The heal...

Prince’s Long-Lost Blue Angel Cloud Guitar up for Auction

Earlier this month, Julien’s Auction announced the lots for its annual Music Icons collection. Amongst the items on the block is one of Prince’s famous Cloud custom guitars — which was recently discovered to be worth far more than initially appraised. That’s because it turns out the instrument is the long-lost Blue Angel guitar that was Prince’s favorite from 1984 to 1993. When the auction was first announced, Paisley Park conservationist and Cloud expert John Woodland contacted Julien’s Auction. After examining the guitar via FaceTime, Woodland was fairly certain this was indeed the second Cloud Prince had commissioned, affectionately known as Blue Angel. Julien’s got the instrument CT scanned to confirm that it was indeed the fabled guitar. Apparently, it had been in the collection of a ...

After releasing one of the most popular albums of the year in After Hours, The Weeknd was understandably excited about a massive arena tour. The 67-date trek criss-crosses North America until October, at which time he’ll take the show to Europe. All of his old performances have found a new home except for a November stop in Glasgow, the exact time of which is still TBD. He’ll be joined on tour with openers Sabrina Claudio, Don Toliver, and Black Atlass. Check out the full sc...

Clean Bandit & Anne-Marie Perform ‘Rockabye’ in Honor of International Nurses Day

In celebration of International Nurses Day, Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie honored the heroes on the coronavirus frontlines with a performance of their 2016 collaboration, “Rockabye.” The members of Clean Bandit delivered the tune from a serene garden, while Anne-Marie video conferenced in from a laptop on a table. Though the song’s third collaborator, Sean Paul, wasn’t present for the performance, the group overlaid a photo of him during his verse. The lyrics are fitting to celebrate nurses, as it features the reassuring maternal pre-chorus, “She tells him ‘Your life ain’t gonna be nothing like my life / You’re gonna grow and have a good life / I’m gonna do what I’ve got to do.'” Watch the performance below.
