Yankee Stadium Parking Lot to Host Drive-In Concerts and Movies This Summer
With the pandemic limiting social interactions, the concept of the drive-in is making a comeback. New York state recently reopened its drive-in movie theaters, but New York City will be taking things to the next level come summer. As Time Out New York reports, the Yankee Stadium parking lot will be turned into a weekend carnival experience dubbed Uptown Drive-In. Beginning in July, the iconic baseball stadium will host drive-in movies and concerts featuring local musicians every night Friday through Sunday, with a “brunch series” occurring on Saturday and Sunday. Jeff Tweedy Performs ‘Jesus Etc’ on Late Show
Wilco appeared on tonight’s edition of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert as the musical guests, of course, remotely. But before the band’s performance airs, a clip of Jeff Tweedy performing a solo version of “Jesus Etc” was shared on the show’s YouTube page. Wilco is supposed to hit the road with Sleater-Kinney this summer (in August more specifically), but like everything else right now, it seems extremely unlikely that will happen. Remember when Fyre Festival seemed like the closest thing to the apocalypse? Kendall Jenner sure does, as she was sued over her involvement in the doomed festival back in December. Three years after the event was meant to take place, the 24-year-old model can finally put the ordeal behind her — and it’ll only cost her $90,000. Along with a number of musicians and influencers, Jenner was sued by Gregory Messer, the trustee in charge of the bankruptcy for Fyre Media, co-founded by Fyre Fest mastermind and disgraced entrepreneur scam artist Billy McFarland. An Australian artist who has been masterfully trolling the Queens rappers with viral murals claims he was assaulted because of his art. Tuesday (May.20), the artist who goes by the name of Lushsux shared a screenshot of one of 50’s latest social media posts Instagram and in the caption claimed he was put in the hospital by “6 or 7” goons.
