Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Welcome A Baby Daughter With A Familiar Name

Tomorrow, Katy Perry will release her sixth album, Smile, and earlier this week marked a decade since her record-setting Teenage Dream LP smashed its way into the world. It’s been a big few days already. And now, it’s gotten ever bigger. On Thursday (August 27), Perry and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, announced they’d welcomed their first child, a baby girl adorably named Daisy Dove Bloom. If the name rings a bell, you might recall Perry’s single from earlier this year called “Daisies,” as well as its accompanying video that found Perry showing off her baby bump and being one with nature — flowers included. “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Perry and Bloom told UNICEF, with whom they partne...

Awkward Star Molly Tarlov Welcomes First Child

Molly Tarlov has some big news to share. “You’re welcome!” in advance. The Awkward star, who portrayed lovable antagonist Sadie Saxton on the hit MTV series, just welcomed her first child with husband Alexander Noyes. We’re sure her fictional HBIC alter ego is doing some sort of Palos Hills-based cheer to celebrate the exciting news. “Harry never been more obsessed/in love w anything ever sorry alex,” Molly captioned the photograph above of her brand-new baby boy. Molly, who wed Alex in 2017 with a bunch of Awkward alums in attendance, announced in April that the couple would welcome their first munchkin (as seen in the Instagram photo below). The self-proclaimed “quarantine mom” also exhibited her trademark humor with a playful take on these...

Gym, really tan, ALL DRESSED UP! ROBYN BECK/AFP via Getty Images Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Deena Cortese, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola and Vinny Guadagnino strutted their stuff at Karma the Nokia Th...

AIAIAI’s Sustainably Produced TMA-2 Modular Headphone System Does Not Compromise Sound Quality

In May, esteemed audio design brand AIAIAI announced that it would be reducing its carbon footprint by utilizing high-grade recycled plastics in its products and packaging. Going green is something that every brand can get behind, but it can sometimes result in a downgrade in terms of product quality. So how do AIAIAI’s customizable TMA-2 headphones hold up after the green shift? The answer is quite simple—the TMA-2 headphone is better than ever, and remains a leading top-shelf selection for the purposes of DJing, music production, and casual listening alike.  Premade TMA-2 models vary widely to cater to the user’s individual preferences, and include wireless and comfort-based models. But AIAIAI lets the user remain in control with the modular headphone system, a...

BAD CHICKEN! Drops Massive Future Bass Track “Lonely Place”

After a successful career with his group Royal Disco, BAD CHICKEN! is stepping into the limelight with his new solo project. This year he released his debut EP Motherclucker, featuring four heavy-hitting bass house tracks, and now he’s back with another single titled “Lonely Place.” Proving you don’t need to stay in a single genre lane, this time around the Israeli producer is showcasing his expertise in future bass.  With “Lonely Place,” he drills in on the soaring synths and intricate bass work, taking this track to new heights. It has the right amount of punch and grit that allow it to pair nicely with his previous heavier productions while still standing out from the lineup. It’s a shame live shows are on hiatus because this track wou...

DEE SNIDER Says There Are People In Film Industry Who Think He Is ‘The Next ROB ZOMBIE’

TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider spoke to PopMatters about his plan to direct a horror movie from a script he wrote, titled “My Enemy’s Enemy”. The film is based on a real-life crime spree that took place in his native Long Island, New York in 1982. “I had my movie that was supposed to go into production and there are certain business aspects of that that even now are still slowly moving forward because there are certain things that you can still put in place,” he said. “You can still slowly work through production elements and everything. I’ve also been asked to write a reimagining of another classic ’80s horror film that I can’t mention by name. I was working on the treatment for that. That’s been greenlit, so they’re pu...

After more than five months of sharing full performances spanning the band’s entire career — from 1983 through 2019 — METALLICA closed out the series this past Monday with a 2017 show from Mexico City. “When METALLICA started the weekly #MetallicaMondays concert streaming series, they set out to provide something to maybe help fans get through quarantine; a bit of entertainment, a weekly event to bond over with friends and family, a minor distraction to go with dinn...

The 25 Best Soundtrack Albums of the 1990s

In the 1980s, music and film collided for cross-promotional blockbusters both transcendent (Purple Rain) and transcendently cheesy (Footloose). In the ‘90s, soundtracks continued to sell in the millions, capturing cultural moments like the Seattle grunge of Singles or the Britpop and electronica of Trainspotting. Auteurs like Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson reached deep into their record collections to set the mood while movies like Above the Rim and Menace II Society pioneered the concept of soundtracks as hip-hop mixtapes. A great soundtrack can propel an unsuccessful single, like Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose,” to the top of the charts, or revive a decades-old hit, like Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” It can also push a cult singer-songwriter like Elliott Smith or Aimee Mann to an Oscar perf...
