Sharing his love of Dragon Ball Z, Castlevania animator Naseer Pasha recently shared his fan film inspired by the anime series produced by Toei Animation based on the latter 325 chapters of Akira Toriyama‘s original Dragon Ball manga. Pasha directed, animated, and storyboarded the 11-minute video and worked with the Canadian independent creative team, Studio Stray Dog, on the animation
Titled “LEGEND – A DRAGON BALL TALE,” the film features a frenetic pace showing alternate events taking place at the World Martial Arts Tournament. Kicking off with Goku facing off against Chi-Chi, things start to get out of hand with the appearance of Vegeta and Broly. Go through various Super Saiyan form changes, the trio engages in a massive battle filled with clashes, charge ups and ki-based attacks.
Pasha reveals that all elements of the film are original, with nothing taken from the inspiring series. Additionally, LEGEND – A DRAGON BALL TALE was completed without a budget over the span of four years in total. Finishing the release by dedicating it to “every child who believed they could train in 100 times the Earth’s gravity, and to every artist who taped Dragon Ball Z and paused it to draw their favorite heroes.”
