Luke Bryan took male video of the year for the third time for “One Margarita.” He previously won for “I Don’t Want This Night to End” (2012) and “Play It Again” (2015).

Dan + Shay won duo video of the year for the third consecutive year for “I Should Probably Go to Bed.” They previously won for “Tequila” (2018) and “Speechless” (2019). Dan + Shay are the third duo to win three consecutive awards in this category, following Sugarland and Florida Georgia Line.

Old Dominion took their first award for group video of the year for “One Man Band.”

Gabby Barrett took breakthrough video of the year for “I Hope.” This can’t hurt when the Grammy nominations review committee meets to determine the finals nominees for best new artist. Two previous CMT Music Award winners for breakthrough video of the year, Underwood and Zac Brown Band, won the Grammy for best new artist. Four others CMT winners in this category—Gretchen Wilson, Taylor Swift, The Band Perry and Sam Hunt—were Grammy-nominated for best new artist. (The Grammy nominations will be announced on Nov. 24.)

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani shared the award for collaborative video of the year for “Nobody but You.” This is the second year in a row that this award has gone to a collab by a country artist and an artist best known for pop. Last year the award went to the Keith Urban/Julia Michaels collab, “Coming Home.” Previously, Bon Jovi won for a pair of collabs with Jennifer Nettles and LeAnn Rimes. Justin Bieber won for a collab with Rascal Flatts.

Chris Young took the award for CMT performance of the year for “Drowning” from CMT Artists of the Year. It’s the first time a clip from that show has won since Bryan and Lionel Richie took the award six years ago for “Oh No”/”All Night Long (All Night).”

Nettles took the new CMT equal play award. As noted, Nettles won four duo of the year awards as one-half of Sugarland.
