Carlita Announces Debut Album and Releases Single Featuring SG Lewis

Carlita announced her upcoming debut album Sentimental and released the lead single featuring SG Lewis “The Moment.” The 12-track album will show a new side of the DJ as she steps out of her comfort zone and explores multiple genres. Songs act as a tribute to her heritage and the experiences she has been through. Carlita honors her Italian roots with “Comme Ça Voce” while “Trouble Symphony” features DJ Tennis as the two began their careers alongside each other.

“The Moment” is an upbeat club track true to Carlita’s signature style. SG Lewis’ vocals complement Carlita’s synth beat while multiple beat drops make the track ideal for dancing.

Reflecting on making “The Moment”, Carlita told Hypebeast, “This track was actually the first track I ever produced back in 2015, which is why I chose to use this as my album announcement. It’s a very sentimental production to me. I was actually searching for another project when I came across this file randomly and it was a ‘whoa this is amazing’ moment. I asked SG Lewis if he would sing on the track, we changed it up a bit and updated the original version to create ‘The Moment’. We did so many studio sessions together to bring this to life and connected so well.”

Two other singles, “Time” and “Planet Blue” featuring Cleo Simone were released from the album before “The Moment”. Carlita has already played “Time” as a closer to many of her sets as the energetic track is perfect for a grand finale.

Before Carlita releases her album, she is set to continue her Europe and US tour, making stops in Cannes, Mykonos, New York City, Ibiza and San Francisco. The tour concludes on October 6 in Essaouira, Morocco.

Take a listen to “The Moment” below. Carlita’s debut album Sentimental is out on November 15.
