Buddy has shared that he’ll be releasing his sophomore album Super Ghetto next month Ahead of its premiere, the Los Angeles rapper has debuted a new single with another one of the city’s own, Blxst.
“Wait Too Long” is a soulful R&B-influenced track. It arrives alongside an official music video directed by Obsidian that shows Buddy and Blxst in the morning after an extravagant party, dealing with the aftermath and reminiscing the fun of the previous night.
“Cause I’m too impatient I just can’t take my time,” Buddy raps on the chorus “Don’t make me wait in line.”
Out via Cool Lil Company and RCA Records, Super Ghetto follows Buddy’s last full-length solo release in 2020, the deluxe edition of his debut album Harlan & Alondra in 2020. While working on that project, he also joined Vince Staples on tour and performed an NPR Tiny Desk concert. With his first LP, Buddy mapped his life based on locations across L.A.. On his newest album, the rapper analyzes and details his relationships with those surrounding him.
