Chart-topping K-pop group BTS received the top trophy for artist of the year at the American Music Awards on Sunday, along with the titles of favorite pop duo or group and favorite pop song for their single “Butter.”
Megan Thee Stallion also nabbed three wins, for favorite trending song (“Body”), favorite female hip-hop artist and favorite hip-hop album for Good News. Doja Cat took home the same number of trophies, winning collaboration of the year for “Kiss Me More” with SZA, favorite female R&B artist and favorite R&B album for Planet Her. Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo claimed the title of new artist of the year.
Additionally, now-34-time AMA winner Taylor Swift broke her previous record for the most American Music Awards in history, taking home the honor of favorite female pop artist. Elsewhere, Bad Bunny was named favorite male Latin artist and won favorite Latin album for EL ÚLTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO, while Kali Uchis won her first AMA: favorite Latin song for her hit single “telepatía.”
The show, which was hosted by Cardi B, featured a slew of performances from the likes of Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, Rodrigo, BTS, Coldplay, Tyler, the Creator, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and several others.
