Bruce Springsteen developing Nebraska feature film: Report

Bruce Springsteen developing Nebraska feature film: Report

Bruce Springsteen, as usual, is on fire. The beloved Americana rocker never seems to stop working — gearing up for another leg of his North American tour this spring. Now, the Boss is rumored to have a new venture on the horizon: a feature film.

Roger Friedman, the entertainment blogger behind Showbiz 411, first reported on the news — sharing that sources have said a film is in the works about the making of Springsteen’s seminal 1982 album Nebraska. Crazy Heart writer-director Scott Cooper is said to be attached to the project — with Springsteen consulting on it. World of Reel reports that the screenplay may be adapted from Warren Zanes’ Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.

The stripped back album is an iconic release in Springsteen’s discography, resulting from a series of solo demos that were meant to be recorded with the E Street Band. Among the many songs that did not make the cut for the album was the famed “Born in the U.S.A.”
