Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun better known as Wizkid has just won his first Grammy Award at the 63rd Grammys.
The results are out and Wizkid has won a Grammy Award for his contribution to Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl“. Wizkid was part of the writers and singers on the record alongside Saint Jhn, Blue Ivy and Beyonce.
Last year, the organisers of the Grammy announced that “Brown Skin Girl” was nominated in the Best Music Video category.
This win is a huge win for Afrobeats in general as we now have a contemporary Nigerian singer clinging a Grammy Award.
