Brad Pitt Stars as a Former Driver-Turned-Mentor in First ‘F1’ Trailer

Brad Pitt Stars as a Former Driver-Turned-Mentor in First ‘F1’ Trailer

Following Lewis Hamilton’s landmark win at the 2024 British Grand Prix, F1 fans can look forward to viewing a sports drama centered on the franchise in theaters next year. The previously announced F1 film has received its first trailer, starring Brad Pitt as former driver Sonny Hayes.

After a crash forces Hayes into retirement, the former star is forced to retire from F1. Decades later, Hayes is asked by his friend Ruben (Javier Bardem, an F1 team owner, to serve as a mentor to a rookie on the Apex Grand Prix team, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris).

The first trailer offers little in the way of the film’s storyline but features a montage of fast-paced racing scenes filmed from the first-person perspective, immersing the viewer into the experience of an F1 driver.

Hamilton is among the producers helming the film and will also appear on screen as himself, alongside fellow drivers Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz Jr., Sergio Pérez and Benoit Treluyer.
