Bowers & Wilkins and Abbey Road Team Up To Design a Car Audio System for Volvo

Bowers & Wilkins announced its partnership with Volvo in September, one that sees the British audio brand create bespoke car audio systems for the Swedish car maker.

Taking things one step further, Bowers & Wilkins has teamed up with another giant of British audio, Abbey Road, to co-develop an all-new sound profile for its car audio systems, launching it with Volvo in its seven-seater electric SUV – the EX90. The ‘Abbey Road Studios Mode’ is being described by Bowers & Wilkins as “an innovative new sound technology designed to transform the in-car listening experience,” one the brand claims will bring the signature sound of Abbey Road’s iconic studios to life in its listeners’ cars.

Music is something you need to hear, almost feel, to fully experience and to showcase the new ‘Abbey Road Studios Mode’ – both how it sounds and how it was developed – the brands hosted an interactive experience at Abbey Road, the famous London recording studios, where guests were treated to a panel hosted by Jamz Supernova and a live performance by Ezra Collective.

Bowers & Wilkins and Abbey Road have worked together for decades, with the relationship between the British brands spanning 44 years. It’s an alliance, they say, which has always been “at the forefront of audio innovation”, one that Vovlo owners can benefit from now.
