BMW Reveals Highly Anticipated 727 HP M5 Touring Wagon

BMW has officially introduced the new BMW M5 Touring, a high-performance wagon that blends electrification with M power. This new model is making its world premiere at this year’s Monterey Car Week in California.

The BMW M5 Touring features an advanced M HYBRID drive system that combines a powerful 4.4L V8 engine with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 727 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque. This combination enables the M5 Touring to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds while offering an electric-only driving range of up to 42 miles in the WLTP cycle.

Designed with a focus on versatility, the M5 Touring offers plenty of interior space and a load capacity that can be expanded from 500 to 1,630 liters, making it ideal for both everyday use and longer trips. The exterior design is characterized by athletic proportions, with features like large air intakes, a newly designed kidney grille with BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting and a sculpted rear end with a two-section diffuser and quad exhaust tips.

The vehicle’s chassis technology, including adaptive M suspension and M-specific tuning, ensures a balance between dynamic performance and ride comfort. Additionally, the M5 Touring is equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems and cutting-edge technology, such as the latest BMW iDrive system and 5G connectivity.

Scheduled for market launch in November 2024, the new BMW M5 Touring is set to be a significant addition to BMW’s high-performance portfolio. At the time of writing, details on price have not yet been shared, however, BMW did note that key markets include Germany, the U.S. and the UK.
