In celebration of 50 years of BMW Motorsport GmbH, the company has unveiled a limited-edition model exclusive to North America, dubbed the M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M.
Using infrastructure from the 2023 BMW M3 Competition xDrive, the M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M will arrive in five signature paint colors — the revered E30 M3 receives a non-metallic Cinnabar Red, the E36 M3 appears in a Techno Violet, the storied E46 M3 is dipped in Deep Interlagos Blue, the E92 M3 is doused in Fire Orange III and the F80 M3 CS claims Limerock Grey.
Across all colorways, the celebratory vehicle is equipped with forged Style 826M wheels with a matte Orbit Grey finish, behind which customers can choose to employ standard M Compound brakes or M Carbon Ceramic brakes. The car also receives several motorsport-inspired exterior enhancements, including a carbon fiber front splitter, classing M quad tailpipes, a trunk lid donning a unique M Performance carbon fiber spoiler and a standard carbon-fiber roof.
Inside, “Edition 50 Jahre BMW M” iconography decorates the door sill trims and an aluminum plaque on the cupholder, which also reminds owners that the vehicle is “1/500.” Customers can opt for standard M Sport seats or track-ready M Carbon bucket seats, both of which feature a unique seam pattern with stitching in signature M colors.
Additionally, the limited-edition vehicle arrives with the 50 Jahre BMW M Boardcase, a 42L roll-aboard suitcase that is composed of Makrolon Polycarbonate and features the car’s logo on its front side.
The company will only produce 500 iterations of the M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M, which has received an MSRP of $95,700 USD. Production is scheduled to begin in the U.S. in July 2022.
