BMW has launched “UNO Car Party!”, a fresh adaptation of Mattel’s classic card game, designed specifically for in-car gaming. This innovative game, developed in collaboration with Mattel and AirConsole, was recently unveiled at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany and has begun rolling out to over 500,000 BMW and MINI vehicles.
The game leverages AirConsole’s unique technology, allowing up to four players to connect using their personal devices as controllers. This setup lets passengers enjoy a social gaming experience on the car’s infotainment system, turning every pit stop into a fun, interactive break.
“UNO beautifully illustrates the strengths of AirConsole with a game accessible to everyone, a bespoke integration to the car hardware and our phone-controlled gaming experience,” said Anthony Cliquot, CEO of AirConsole. This innovative setup allows each player to privately view their cards on their device, creating a unique and immersive experience.
It’s worth noting that the game can only be played when the vehicle is in park, ensuring safety remains a priority.
