BMW Launches All New 5 Series Touring

BMW has unveiled the new 5 Series Touring, a model entering its sixth generation, designed to represent the brand’s commitment to combining sporty elegance, modern functionality and advancements in digital technology and sustainability. For the first time, the lineup includes the all-electric BMW i5 Touring, marking a step towards eco-friendly driving without compromising on performance or luxury.

The 5 Series Touring showcases a flexible drive architecture that accommodates a range of powertrains, from highly efficient petrol and diesel engines to plug-in hybrids and the purely electric drive.

Notably, the new 5 Series sports a dynamic exterior with stretched proportions and a modernized front end featuring the iconic twin headlights and BMW grille. The model is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor, offering the longest wheelbase in its class for enhanced interior space and comfort.

At the interior of the 5 Series Touring is a paradigm of progressiveness, with a driver-oriented cockpit centered around the BMW Curved Display. It also takes a significant leap towards sustainability with a fully vegan interior standard, alongside options for BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery. The vehicle promises optimized functionality for daily use, leisure and travel, offering a spacious and comfortable environment complemented by intelligent storage solutions.

The introduction of the BMW i5 Touring as the Series’ first all-electric model is a highlight, available in two variants from the start. Namely the i5 M60 xDrive Touring, which delivers up to 601 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the i5 eDrive40 Touring impresses with a range of 300 to 348 miles, showcasing BMW’s commitment to efficiency and long-distance electric driving.

BMW has not only focused on performance and luxury but also on innovative technology for driving and parking automation, alongside advanced charging solutions. The new 5 Series Touring offers a balance of sportiness and comfort, enhanced suspension technology and a range of options for personalized driving experiences.

The new 5 Series is produced seamlessly on a single production line at BMW’s Dingolfing plant, with the vehicle set to hit the roads in Germany, various European countries and Japan starting in May — with other markets to follow in June.
