Following the news that BLACKPINK is splitting with YG Entertainment for their own solo endeavors, the K-pop band’s member Lisa and her own company Lloud Co. have now announced their new partnership with RCA Records.
Entering into a new deal, the singer will now be able to release her own new solo music with RCA Records and have full ownership of all her recordings. In a statement, Lisa speaks on the deal, “I’m super excited to be joining the RCA family and I am confident they are the best team to create a bigger movement in my solo career. Looking forward to showing the world everything we have been preparing.” In another joint statement from RCA Chairman and CEO Peter Edge and COO John Fleckenstein, the two echoed her excitement, “We are incredibly proud to partner with Lisa and Lloud Co.! Lisa is a multidimensional talent and an irrefutable global force. We are thrilled to welcome her and her team to the RCA Records family.”
Lisa launched her company earlier this year as “a platform to showcase her overall vision in music and entertainment that pushes boundaries.” In the past, she has released solo work alongside her career as a titular member of BLACKPINK. Her single album Lalisa sold almost 750,000 copies in the first week of release in South Korea. She plans to enter into new ventures beyond BLACKPINK, set to make her acting debut in the upcoming season of The White Lotus. So far, Lisa has not confirmed when she will be releasing her next solo music project.
