Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Letitia Wright has been hospitalized during production as a result of a stunt accident.
According to new reports, the actress — who portrays Chadwick Boseman aka King T’Challa’s genius sister Shuri — was injured while working on a stunt rig in Boston, shooting for the upcoming sequel to 2018’s Black Panther. Fortunately, the unspecified injuries were minor and Wright is expected to be released from the hospital soon.
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” a Marvel spokesperson has revealed. “She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon.”
Wright has been seen shooting with actress Dominique Thorne over the last few days, the latter believed to be portraying the character of Riri Williams, a young technology and engineering prodigy who ultimately replaces Tony Stark’s Iron Man as Ironheart. Despite the recent accident, Marvel expects no delays to production for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
