Billie Eilish and Finneas were among the performers at the 2024 Grammy Awards, teaming up with a string orchestra for a rendition of “What Was I Made For?” from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie soundtrack.
“What Was I Made For?” earned Eilish five out of Eilish’s six nominations this year, including for Best Song Written for Visual Media, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Music Video, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. “Never Felt So Alone,” her collaboration with Labrinth, also got a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. So far, it’s won the Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Barbie Land had a big year at this year’s Grammys; Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s “Barbie World,” Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” and Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken” were among Eilish’s fellow nominees in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category. Barbie also won a Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, while “Dance the Night” is in contention for Song of the Year.
