Billie Eilish calls Donald Trump "someone who hates women so, so deeply" during Nashville concert

Billie Eilish addressed the re-election of Donald Trump during her concert in Nashville on Wednesday.

The pop star delivered a somber speech, expressing concern that “someone who hates women so deeply is about to become president,” before performing her song “TV.”

“Waking up this morning, I kind of couldn’t really fathom doing a show on this day,” she said to the crowd. “But the longer the day went on, I kind of had this feeling of, like, it’s such a privilege that I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time like right now.”

“I want you to know that you’re safe with me and you’re protected here and you are safe in this room,” she continued. “And the song that we’re about to do is… about the abuse that exists in this world upon women and a lot of the experiences that I have gone through and people I know have gone through. To tell you the truth, I’ve never met one single woman who doesn’t have a story of abuse — not one.”

Eilish went on to touch on her own experience with abuse before dedicating “TV,” a song that addresses the overturning of Roe v. Wade, to “all the women out there.”

Over two dozen women have accused Trump of sexual misconduct over the years, and in 2023, he was found liable in a civil case brought by author E. Jean Carroll. He has denied any and all allegations.
