Beyoncé has officially announced that she will embark on a 2023 world tour in support of her Grammy-nominated 2022 album, RENAISSANCE.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday morning, Beyoncé made the announcement under a close-up image from the album’s cover art shoot, writing “RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR 2023.” The tour will begin with a slew of European shows in May, followed by stops in Canada and the United States that run from early July through late September. Notably, the RENAISSANCE World Tour will mark Bey’s first since her 2018 co-headlining On The Run II Tour with JAY-Z and her first solo tour since the Formation World Tour in 2016.
News of the tour first surfaced during an auction for the Wearable Art Gala in October, when a concert ticket package offered passes to attend the RENAISSANCE tour, confirming that Beyoncé would return to the stage in 2023.
The description detailed that the auction winner would receive two First Class International United Airlines Polaris tickets, alongside a three-night stay at a Marriott hotel and two tickets to the tour in a city of their choosing. Valued at $20,000 USD, the auction item also included a backstage experience with Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson.
RENAISSANCE, which marked Bey’s seventh studio album, includes a slew of features from Drake, Jay-Z, Skrillex, The-Dream, Honey Dijon, Labrinth, Raphael Saadiq, Tems, Syd, Lucky Daye, Leven Kali, Dixson, No I.D. and 070 Shake. The album also samples music from Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, James Brown and others.
