As the week in music comes to a close, Hypebeast has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.
This week’s lineup is led by Rick Ross x Meek Mill, Jack Harlow and Dua Lipa, who each released the joint album Too Good To Be True and the singles “Love On Me” and “Houdini.” Also joining this selection are offerings from Lola Brooke, Black Sherif, ENNY with Smino, Tekno with Vybz Kartel and Dre Skull, Buju Banton and 070 Shake with Ken Carson.
Rick Ross x Meek Mill – Too Good To Be True
The title of Rick Ross and Meek Mill’s 17-track effort Too Good To Be True is pretty spot on. The joint album features guest appearances from Vory and Fabolous on “Dead Last,” Teyana Taylor and DJ Khaled on “Above The Law,” Wale and The Dream on “Fine Lines,” Jeremih on “Gold Medalist,” French Montana on “Millionaire Row,” Future on “In Luv With The Money” and Shaquille O’Neal and DAME D.O.L.L.A (Damian Lillard) on the remix of “Shaq & Kobe.”

Jack Harlow – “Lovin On Me”
Jack Harlow drops off “Lovin On Me,” his newest single since the release of Jackman. earlier this April. The track features production from OZ, Nik D and Sean Momberger and arrives with an accompanying music video helmed by Aidan Cullen.

Dua Lipa – “Houdini”
Dua Lipa enters her new chapter with “Houdini,” which she describes as a “track represents the most light and freeing parts of my singledom.” She continues, “’Houdini’ is very tongue in cheek, exploring the idea of whether someone is really worth my while or if I’ll ghost them in the end. You never know where something may take you, that’s the beauty of being open to whatever life throws your way. I’m looking forward to sharing that feeling of defiant bliss with my fans.”

Lola Brooke – Dennis Daughter
Brooklyn’s Lola Broke drops her first project Dennis Daughter, where she enlists the help of Bryson Tiller, Coi Leray, French Montana, Latto, Nija and Yung Miami. The album also arrives with an accompanying music video for “Don’t Get Me Started,” which is co-directed by Ben Marc and Starr Mazi.

Black Sherif – “OH NO”
Black Sherif rounds out his year with his new single “OH NO,” which he says “feels like me standing at the edge of an open-pit, but I know the resultant effect of the very next step.” He continues, “I chose to live my life devoid of any fear of falling into the pit. There are voices around and within; pushing me. Either to direct my next step away from the pit or have me fall into this deep abyss. ‘OH NO,’ is a reaffirmation to my destiny and my calling. It’s me defining who I am, what I have believed in and basking in the work I have put in thus far.”

ENNY x Smino – “Charge It (Remix)”
ENNY taps Smino for the remix of her viral single “Charge It.” She says of the collab, “It’s an amazing feeling to rejuvenate this record with a cold verse from Smino and a new video I had the pleasure of directing.”

070 Shake joins forces with Ken Carson for “Natural Habitat,” the second single from her upcoming album. The cut follows “Black Dress” and arrives with a music video helmed by Machine Operated.

Buju Banton – “Coconut Wata (Sip)”
Buju Banton debuts the accompanying music video for his track “Coconut Wata (Sip).” The visual sees him surrounded by beautiful bodies of water as he enjoys his coconut water in the summer heat. The artist also teamed up with 100 Coconuts for this music video, “uniting in their shared mission to promote authenticity and celebrate the refreshing purity of coconut water, as well as the keep it real message conveyed throughout the song.”

Tekno x Vybz Kartel x Dre Skull – “Telephone”
Dre Skull teams up with Tekno and Vybz Kartel for their latest cut “Telephone.” This marks the first collab from the vault of unreleased material between Skull and Tekno, and honors the relationship of Afro-pop and dancehall.
